Got Bayonetta in the last pic last year- Was showing some protective cases I picked up from retroprotection.com. They have a lot of sizes available including some made for various LE boxes!

Of course I'm not playing them all, lol. I'm a collector, too. Waiting for the chance to re-sell things as well. I sold off two Saturn games recently and it paid for a lot of stuff I got after that.

Pick-ups from May and this month. Most of this stuff were limited run game pre-orders going back months and those titles aren't generally full-price, with the exceptions of the LEs.

Psikyo Collection Vol. 3 LE:

Comes with the game, extra inserts (double-sided with different game art- the pre-order images made it look like they had ones for each game. Boo, hiss), an art book, a slip case, and...some other thing. Looks familiar.

The slip case holds all three games.

Picked up Steam double dips of Dragon's Dogma and MVC:I for some reason, along with Trover saves The Universe as planning on dragging out the VR this weekend.

Also preordered FFXIV Shadowbringers and SamSho as well so I am over budget games wise for the month.

Apart from those games, I've purchased so little for Playstation 4 this year. Most of my game time is on PC and Switch now. I'd almost consider just dropping PS4 altogether but there's always something looming on the horizon like Samurai Shodown and now Granblue Fantasy Versus.

The collector side of me would just be fine with Switch and Vita physical games. It's always tempting to see about ditching most of my PS4 stuff and just going digital for the few games I want to play on there.

I still have some of the "RARE!!!!!11" Saturn games I need to put up for sale, too. If I can sell them for the higher-end prices, that's probably like $1200-$1500 for a handful of titles. Shit is insane nowadays.

Yeah.

I'm not doing that for the time being, but I do plan to sell off most of the older stuff (sold a big chunk last year, but still have NGPC, PSP, GC, Wii, Wii U, GB/GBA, and DC stuff) and just keep a Playstation1-3, Vita, and Switch collection. Am not even sure if I want to stick with physical PS4 stuff in the future and might just go digital with PS5. Depends on how they handle things.

Expanding on this- Last summer I took a whole bunch of stuff out to a mom n' pop game store in the sticks. They took everything I had, but the owner refused to pay me cash for the import games unless I gave him the 'rare' stuff I had. He didn't want to give me enough for those games, so I declined, took half in cash and half in store credit, immediately went and bought up stuff I wanted to have or figured I could re-sell, and never went back. Most of the stuff I gave them is also stuff that's not worth enough to go sell off individually and I was happy as hell to get rid of it.

There's another store that's about 45 minutes one-way that also takes stuff. I might try going there with some of the system libraries I wouldn't mind parting with after checking eBay to make sure there's nothing too high-priced in there, of course.

Anything you see from Limited Run Games, East Asia Soft, Red Art Games, Strictly Limited Games, Super Rare Games, and some of the other "indie" titles (which is the majority) aren't full price titles and can cost as low as $25. I pre-ordered them months in advance so it's not like I bought all this stuff at one time!

The only real expensive thing I bought recently is that Razer Huntsman Elite keyboard. But it was also mah birfday last month and I used some gift money to cover a big chunk of that.

But yeah, I do buy too much vidya regardless of pricing. A big argument for why going digital would probably be good for me- I don't go nuts with digital releases.

I really don't think I'd buy all that much if I went solely-digital on the consoles- if you take the collecting aspect away, I'd only give a shit about a small number of games/genres.

Wow, I've bought more games this year than I thought I had.

FMP was super cheap on Amazon, pretty basic SRW-lite type game.
Left Alive was only $17 at Gamefly last month and still not worth that much.
Valkyria Chronicles was $20 at Amazon, figured the time was right.
Harry Potter was for my daughter. She's obsessed with the books/movies so I thought she'd have some fun playing through it with the Move controller. It's been a hoot watching her play.

KH3 and SRWT were the only full-price titles.

Thinking ahead, the only games I'm planning on picking up the rest of the year are Judgment, Dragon Quest Builders 2 and the new SD Gundam G Generation title. How times have changed from when I was buying a shit ton of games ten years ago.

PS Classic for $30 and some games. Got Pespiman, in excellent condition, for a decent price with shipping and Night Striker was super-cheap, yet came in mint condition. Even the spine card looked untouched.

It's just the logo- no sequels.

Nightstriker is a 1989 3D sprite-scaling shooter along the lines of Space Harrier/After Burner/Galaxy Force/etc developed by Taito. Googling it, I did not know that it first came out on the Mega CD (Wiki says it was a poorly-done and received port that never came out outside of Japan) but I used to have it on PS1 back in 1995 or 1996. It also came out on the Saturn and was included on one of the Taito PS2 classic game compilations, but it doesn't look like the American versions had it.

The FMV cut scenes are entirely in English with American actors...yet it never came out outside of Japan. Dunno if Pepsiman was a mascot in any other countries. AVGN did a review of it recently so prices started climbing.

Nah, but I keep talking about it.

Might just go all-digital after PS4 and wind the collecting thing down with the next-gen- it feels generally pointless buying most PS4 physical games apart from the few limited runs I do want or getting games on sale cheaper physical than what's offered on PSN. With a few exceptions, I pretty much just get stuff either digitally and/or wait for huge discounts before picking them up on PS4 nowadays.

I like getting Vita and Switch stuff, though. Carts!
