QuoteYup I agree.GAF bans were 'personal vendettas' by the mod team. Say they didnt like you, they kept tabs on your account and banned you for the smallest infractions and to top it off, they would give you a smart ass reason to spite you.So far, this is not the case here so its progress. As a very inactive member of the mod team at the old place, that was not the case. I mean, there were people who were definitely waiting to catch a ban, but that was because of a history of consistent bad behavior that had not reached ban-worthy yet

There was also a pretty strong splintering and there were people who were "protected" but most of that was not coming from the volunteer staff but ownership, and without getting too much into things, ownership and the mod team were very often at loggerheads with one another about certain subjects and posters being off-limits.
Scorcese is right. Coppola is right. Woo is right. And it burns you up inside. 🖤I hope every celebrated film maker keeps chiming in and insulting the MCU. I'll see you in the next thread.

All the priviledge in the world to be paid millions of dollars to make movies and these salty old motherfuckers are still bothered that some people are going to see other movies. It's annoys me, so I choose not to take them seriously and be dismissive.
So Cerium called someone a gay slur... in high school?

That never ending religious post reminds me of GAF having a religion thread and it was literally just one poster posting bible verses for like 50 pages. You'd get one other poster every 5 pages, the rest was just this one poster for hundreds of posts.

Chris Asch was one of three librarians at one of America's premier high schools, Stuyvesant High School in New York City, when he was suddenly arrested and called a "pervert", removed from his job, and told to go to the rubber room in Washington Heights to sit and await charges. One of the students at Stuy was a person who resented any kind of adult chastisement and focused his hatred of the 'system' on one man, Chris. Isamu Fukui had few friends, and wanted popular Chris to suffer for telling him to be quiet in the library. Stuyvesant Principal Stan Teitel didnt want Chris around either, seemingly because he - Chris - would block Sten's attempt to reduce the size of the Stuy library, as well as make other changes to the schedule. Stan made up that Quiz Bowl, an organized group at Stuyvesant but not a school-funded Club, mentored by Chris, necessitated paperwork for overnight trips that was, indeed, not required at all, then charged Chris with not filling the paperwork out when the Quiz Bowl students were invited to Harvard for a competition.
Asch, who is 65 years old, began working in the New York City school system in 1989. In 2002, he gained tenure at Stuyvesant High School, where he was employed as a librarian. It was not long before Asch ran into trouble at Stuyvesant. In 2009, Asch was accused of harassing and inappropriately touching male students. He was put on unpaid leave for six months and transferred to a different school. The arbitrator ultimately found that Asch’s conduct was not sexual in nature, Newsweek reports.Asch has been in custody since his arrest in 2014, and his employment has obviously been terminated. Assuming he serves his full term, he will be 80 years old when he is released.
The guy wanted to torture, rape, and murder women and children. I think I’ll trust Cerium’s word over the cannibal librarian.
Is okay to call someone a cigarillo if is a potential rapist and cannibal?
Being fair, I doubt he wanted to eat Cerium.
The DUI thread said we can't call people who commit crimes names. Shame on you.

I've heard reams about how people can't talk about sensitive issues now because they've been asked to show a degree of tact or consideration before doing so. Pages of it. How do you think that sits - hearing endless whines about how difficult it is to show the most minimal veneer of respect to us as people?Mental tolls? How about going months with threads about yourself, your identity and your issues being the least approachable place to go. That in order to engage on a topic that matters to you, you're forced to ensure an unending latrine of being mocked, insulted or dismissed until you tapped out or the thread died. That if you didn't, there's going to be transphobic bile covering the walls and ceilings of the thread like that's supposed to be the norm. That you operate between not being able to release that frustration for fear of being banned, and not wanting to be banned because then the people that literally track and harass LGBTQ+ members of the forum might descend like wolves to laugh at you on every other medium you frequent. Quote from: HaughtyFrank on November 25, 2019, 04:23:30 PMI can proudly say that nothing I did in highschool resulted in a supreme Court decision This may be due to New York's misleading naming of things, their Supreme Courts are not a "Supreme Court" in that they're not an appellate court, nor the final jurisdiction, there are courts higher than them in New York. If you'd like to list the various times you were tried and for what crimes I can tell you the equivalent.
