- A leak is verifiably true
- Contradicts something Klee said
Which leak is that? The only one I've seen is the github spec thing, which is not remotely verifiably true. It's a real thing, a real chip..no one has any idea if it's the final PS5 chip. TONS of insiders have said it's not. Like pretty much everyone in games media who bothers to pay attention and has connections.
Yes people are still having trouble wrapping their brains around how that chip could not be the PS5; I think Sony fucked up and wasted a bunch of money and had to go back to the drawing board personally. Either way Sony appears to be assuring developers that the final spec will be in the same TF range as the Xbox.
Verifiably true =/= final hardware. The leak is 100% real, but that doesn’t mean that what the final hardware will look like. Even taking this into account, Rich Leadbetter said it’s unlikely to have major revisions this close to launch. Most recent tests are from August, and final silicon will go into production in the next few months. Rich seems convinced that the final hardware will be similar, and it seems to contradict what Klee said (PS5>XSX, PS5>10TF, etc).
I haven’t really seen anyone come out and deny 9.2TF. I took Matt’s comment to mean “things can still change in the final version” but he didn’t necessarily say it was incorrect. I don’t know which other comments you’re referring to.
