I kinda like it- it reminds me of a futuristic concept vehicle design from the 1980s.  :lol

Little girl hair, twisting on my axle, skull crushed in the wheel well, brains spraying all over my anime tiddy mud flaps

Is anyone in the mood to start a metal band? I can get into this. I can make that a chant with a little work. Could be a tagline for Cybertruck.

Cannibal Corpse - Shredded Humans

Early hours, open road, family of five - on their way home
Having enjoyed a day in the sun, their encounter with gore has just begun
A homicidal fool not knowing left from right, now has the family in his sight
Trying to perceive if he's blind or insane,
he steers his car into the other lane

Both of them collide, expressions horrified
Head on at full speed, the vultures will soon feed

The father of three was impaled on the wheel,
as his skull became a part of the dash
His eyeballs ejected his sight uneffected, he saw his own organs collapse
His seatbelt was useless for holding him back, it simply cut him in two
Legs were crushed, out leaked pus as his spinal cord took off and flew
The mother took flight through the glass, and ended up impaled on a sign
Her intestines stretched from the car down the road for a quarter of a mile

Fourth child on the way, won't live another day
Fetus on the road, with mangled little bones
Little children fly, not a chance to wonder why
Smashed against the ceiling, all their skin burning and peeling
Shards of glass explode, chest and skull now implode
Corpses they've become, and graves will have to be dug

Underneath the wheels, burning rubber on your face
Bleeding from your eyes, the slaughtered victims lies
Knowing what he's done, he just backs up one more time
Laughing at the mess, a pile of meat on the street

One child left slowly dying now, arteries gushing blood
Now it's time to feed on flesh, the gore has just begun

Early hours, open road, family of five - on their way home
Having enjoyed a day in the sun, their encounter with gore has just begun
A homicidal fool not knowing left from right, now has the family in his sight
Trying to perceive if he's blind or insane,
he steers his car into the other lane

The look of death in my eye
Surely no-one will survive
Just a pile of mush
Left to dry in the sun

I see my fresh kill
Left in the road
Remains of your bodies
Mangled and torn

One child left slowly dying now, arteries gushing blood
Now it's time to feed on flesh, the gore has just begun

https://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2019/11/22/business/22reuters-tesla-truck-windows.html

So he claims the truck is bulletproof, had someone throw shit at it, and then the windows cracked? :lol

Quote
To show off the robust design of the new pickup, Musk enlisted his head of design, Franz von Holzhausen, to take a sledgehammer to the side of the vehicle, whose exterior will be made from the same stainless steel used in the Starship rocket developed by Musk’s SpaceX aerospace company.

The crowd cheered when it bounced off the surface without leaving a mark.

But the truck’s windows were not as fortunate, cracking like spiderwebs when von Holzhausen threw metal balls at them

Quote
“Oh my fucking God, well, maybe that was a little too hard,” Musk said, when his head of design, Franz von Holzhausen, cracked the driver’s side window with a metal ball in a series of pre-planned tests for the crowd.

He allowed von Holzhausen another throw to the rear passenger window, only to see that crack as well.

“It didn’t go through, so that’s a plus side,” Musk said, adding: “Room for improvement”.

Yup, they probably got surplus stuff from the spacex contracts.

Also, it's only heavier if you just swap out the sheet metal skin for stainless, but the outer skin is part of the structure, so you have some weight overlap there.

It's not supposed to look "nice." Man, fuck this culture. You are why we can't have interesting things. Everything has to be "good" or "nice" or "pretty." You've allowed yourself to only appreciate one tiny corner of the entire grid, and way too many people are similar. You're holding progress back. You're holding aesthetics back. You're holding humanity's potential back. You are probably too old to be corrected.

I think it looks bad but I agree with this. Listen to Morbid Angel and slam your face into a desk once in a while right?

I personally do like the way this looks (or the general direction of it), but I couldn't do a truck. I can't see and letting me drive a large vehicle is really putting people in danger and I'd be in a constant state of anxiety from anticipating the next time I'd have to parallel park the thing. I do hope this encourages other auto makers to freshen up their dreadfully dated designs. We should nationalize the auto industry for resting at good enough after they made cars sorta aerodynamic 25 years ago. Outside of things like simple tools, in what other field do designs stay basically the same, nearly around the board, for 25 years? Er, how long have Marvel movies been going on again?

Wait, filler, is pomp daddy a reference to me? Have I mentioned that here? I like wearing large pompadours. Like, conspicuously.

This was extremely apparent when I had to get a new car last year after mine got totaled- it's like every car out there is a Honda Fit clone, a (whoever did crossovers first) clone, or a big-ass bulky SUV.  The few sedan and coupe types left also all look like each other.  Especially the Hondas and Toyotas.  There's just a couple of sports cars that stand out from the pack, but even they all haven't changed much to keep that iconic look, I guess.

"Generic" design isn't going to stop me from getting a vehicle (unless there is something comparable with a better or unique look), but it's just so boring.  Reminds of mobile phone design post-iPhone.

The 2020 Corolla and Civic look similar enough that you could swap the emblems and nobody would notice.   :P

The US literally doesn't have a single pedestrian protection regulation for vehicle manufacturing.
