Yeah I just finished watching it. Pretty interesting doc. Man lucky they saved it because it sounds like the original doom 4 was going to be fucking ass. After watching it though I just really wanna play a lot of doom 2016.

another thing I noticed was where they were talking about the gore and how it's like pretty OTT/violent but because the enemies are funny/cartoony enough you don't give a fuck and it's still fun. that's the diff between this and say MK which kinda makes me 😬 sometimes

that video got me even more excited, sounds like exactly what i want. like doom 1 to doom 2, just more of the same and better. he made the combat and movement sound fucking godlike

but i told myself i wasn't going to buy any more new games until after cyberpunk came out so i guess this will be a steam sale special now :'(

yep, i needed a push to get to playing my backlog last year and i spend too much on games anyway. i didn't expect the delay to September but i still got a bunch of shit (plus game pass which is like an infinite backlog). doom being cheap in the fall will be the bright side though.

also someone already gifted me half life alyx so that covers the bases for the three big titles i wanted to play this year

Switch version is actually not bad. It has the obvious downgrades, but is still very playable.

Doom is a game I truly do NOT recommend for Switch. You play that game for its framerate and pace, not for its graphics.

I agree with you. I just find it funny you pointed out "... not for graphics" when referring to the Switch though

One thing that makes me go

is that this man always goes on about how "story in fps is a like story in porn" and yet he's kinda splooging over the Doom lore here. If he's being ironic then I didn't pick up on it.

The Switch version is perfectly fine if you want to play Doom on the go, but if you're just playing at home go with PC.

I think my biggest beef with Doom 2016 was how the last few levels is when it really picks up for using everything at your disposal. The first few levels are so tame compared to hell and the last stretch.

I enjoyed the hell environments wayyyyy more than any of the space station environments. Doom Eternal looks gothic as fuck at all times, which is what I want more of from Doom.

This looks to be what Super Mario Galaxy 2 was to Super Mario Galaxy. All restricions removed, everything in the service of the gameplay. There's even platforms with Mario like red fire bars.

If they did this right it could be the best shooter.
