It's a pandemic and niccas still don't tip. Easily the worst customers.

Looking forward to working at a grocery store where I don't have to worry about that.
Your restaurant is still open? Mine has been closed for two weeks. Also, because I had recently moved here and only had 1 paycheck in this state during the 12 month period they average wages I don’t qualify for unemployment. I had also just blown a couple grand on dental work that is only halfway finished because all of the dentists closed before I could get a crown on this root canal. Corona is really fucking me up and I don’t even have it yet...

I’m just trying to go with the flow. Forget about the tooth for now, don’t spend money on non essential bullshit (Animal Crossing and weed were my last “enjoy the time off” purchases), get high as hell and listen to audiobooks throughout the day. That’s been my plan so far. I’ve got months of savings but it would crush me psychologically to see that disappear as I sit around getting high and playing animal crossing.

I’ve thought about mowing lawns for some quick cash, that’s where I’m at.

I deliver pizza. We are considered "essential".

You're having a rough go of it. I'm hoping the next month will help.

FOR FUCK'S SAKE i went outside to take out the trash and all i had to do was not touch my face but then i went for a short walk and something came up to my face, a small insect or something and it landed on the corner of my mouth so i brushed that part of my face with my hand :snoop

Why would you take out the trash and not immediately wash your hands?

 :confused

i took out the trash, and went for a few minute walk, then returned home

Yes. When I take out the trash I go back inside and wash my hands.

Then again, I wash my hands after every delivery, even before the Coronavirus started.

So this is completely foreign to me.

So after going in Monday and Tuesday and really not digging how things were being handled, I took my last three sick days for the year (lol) to finish the week, and am now starting to burn through my last 2 weeks of vacation starting Monday. Boss says okay, just wanna let you know we’re being instructed to look at possible lay offs. So I’m probably gonna be sucking that neet teet soon.

Never him, no, ew.

Honesty getting laid off from this job and being able to collect a strong unemployment might be the chance I need to get into a real career, I really ought to spend this time figuring out what kinda training or whatever I’m gonna do

Assuming this bill gets passed and I'm not fucking up in understanding it, you'll be able to collect unemployment (your state's standard amount plus $600/week) even if you quit, which is usually not the case.

If you're feeling jaded about your current job, there are worse times to look for an exit.

We finally got the approval to stop working weekends.  Actually getting a full weekend break after three weeks!

This came with a note that "should the on-call person be overwhelmed, people might get called to hop on."  So on-call for the on-call.

Don't think it's going to be a problem though- the last two weekends were pretty much wastes of everyone's time.

Talking to my brother this morning, sounds like Japan is two weeks behind the USA in terms of reacting to this. Their federal government is still trying to deny its a big deal and the prefectures and cities are telling people to stay home as much as possible.

Yea, they were doing "drive through" service in their parking lot. So, the line stretched out into the streets. Lots of new people that have never used the food bank before due to  the recent layoffs and uncertainty of when it will get better.

They are considering moving it to a weekly service instead of a monthly one to alleviate the demand.

They closed schools and played some baseball with no one in stadiums, but they didn't do much else. They've been trying to pretend shit was fine so that they could keep the olympics. Now that the Olympics are postponed all the stuff that was covered up is coming out.

Also should keep in mind that we've been testing more in the last few days, which explains the number of positives going back up.
The percentage of positive vs tested, is actually lower, so the curve is still flattening, as i understand it.

While unemployment gets a boost, is it stated anywhere how long that $600 bonus applies?

Also, being a full time grocery store worker that makes around $330 weekly take home (we're paid weekly instead of bi weekly), the idea of being in the line of fire and not getting more significant boosts to income sucks ass. I am getting a $300 bonus next week on my paycheck. Which is nice, but I want more for the shit I'm doing.

To give you guys an idea of how well Kroger is doing, our store goal about two weeks ago when panic buying started, was around $60,000 on Friday, and $70,000 Saturday. We ended up doing $134,000 and $120,000 on both those days. We did $600,000 for that week. These past two weeks, my store amongst thousands has made around 2-3 million dollars in revenue.

And my store is typically middle in the road for being a top earner in the district. Grocery stores had a ginormous boom this past month, like, swimming in money boom.
OH!

All Japan ran a show with 1200 people 4 days ago. Other Japanese wrestling companies have been running shows all month with anywhere from a couple hundred up to 1200 people in the audience.

I heard NJPW cancelled shows. I was wrong then.

A small but necessary price to pay for sound fiscal policy.

Eurobonds would onlly end with the Dutch voting against the EU and electing Wilders or Baudet instead.
And the same thing would happen if many people died because transfer of patients to Belgium is not possible and this crisis depletes our healthcare resources.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. With Schengen closed, the Russians in Rome and the Dutch and Germans blocking Eurobonds as the south literally bleeds the EU is effectively dead.
The only ones who haven't figured it out yet are the bureaucrats in Brussels.

Not too surprised to see cases jump back up again once things opened back up and people started returning to their normal routines. And exactly why the "We need to get people back to work again right now!" is an extremely bad idea.

Unfortunately, it seems to follow that deaths will lag a bit behind new cases flattening. And when we'll sort out the people who died without being accounted yet... Apparently some places are at 10% more deaths than last year on average YoY.

That was one aspect worrying me about news of the curve flattening, because some people may already start to "relax" and feel like it's time to start reopening shit again, when in reality, this is exactly the moment to double down on things, in my opinion.
