So, I went to the corona emergency center thing.
On entering I had to disinfect my hands and put on a facemask with an eye shield.
The nurse started with some regular checks, temperature, heart rate, blood pressure etc.
Next up was the doctor, he checked the lungs and those were fine so luckily no emergency yet.
Still, I was short on breath for the last two days and he couldn't entirely determine if that was my asthma or Corona-chan so he send me back to the nurse for a test.
The Corona test is pretty weird. First they stick a swab down your throat, pretty deep I might add. Next a swab goes up your nose. The nurse mentioned that a lot of people panic or complain that it hurts, some feel that their brain is being poked or something.
It was a weird feeling for sure because again the swab goes quite deep, it sort of felt like tickling or an itch. All things considered she said I handled it well.
I found the one they put in your mouth worse because it leaves you with an awful taste.
After the test it was time to wrap up. They only checked for COVID-19 related things so they didn't really look into the bowel issues.
In a typical moment of Dutch directness the doctor said: "Oh, your stomach pains... well probably bowel cancer! But we only test for COVID here so who knows!"
I was there for about 20 - 30 minutes tops, no waiting or anything but I had to drive about 30 minutes to get there and traffic wasn't great so it took about 2 hours after I left before I was back home.
All seemed pretty well organized and I should get a call with the result of the test within 48 hours.
Otherwise it is likely just a stomach flu and I should wait a week to see if it improves or call the doctor again when it gets worse or I develop other symptoms.
