My honest feeling (and no, I'm not trying to rail against anyone) is that this is what they're trying to convey.

There is (or was) a need for a message board such as this in 2017. What set us apart is our sensitivity to issues within minority communities. Through discussions, new leadership, and painstaking changes in policy enforcement, they've arrived at a general consensus, and it is as follows.

It is counter-productive, or unhelpful to enter into any discussion that concerns a marginalized group of people unless your first cause is empathy for those people. If you do not have empathy or do not belong to the marginalized group, you may not have the necessary frame of reference to proceed with the kinds of discussions they're wanting.

We can eventually weed out liars (and we should), but what we can't do is head down a path that leads us to distrust the victims of harassment and abuse, whether they are black, gay, etc. We can impose fewer, less harsh, or more rational bans, but we cannot undo letting racist ideas pollute the discourse.

Our being scared to post runs a distant second to those groups being scared to post, which is fine. That's kind of the deal as I see it.

So I am a home owner in a new estate. As part of building in the estate, all of our front landscaping was included in the land package.

The Issue:
Some of my motherfucking Neighbours (40% of my street) don't seem to give a fuck about maintaining their gardens. Either it's filled with weeds, the lawns are over 30cm long, or both. It's driving me mad.

Why do I care?
Two reasons, I live in a really nice area so it really does look shit when people don't seem to care. Also the equity of my property can potentially take a hit because of their slack-ass ways.

So how do I get them to sort their shit? I've thought about letter dropping a passive aggressive note but many homes have cameras and I don't want to get caught. I've also thought of calling a mowing company as them but then my number could be traced back.

My favorite incident in this thread so far was watching someone try to shame people out of using the report button - as if mass reporting was some kind of rampant problem here. I specifically remember around the time of the meeting with TransEra where the mods said people should be using the report button because they couldn't catch everything. Some bans get reversed because they found a grifter and suddenly people immediately start trying to slide this place back into a hostile status quo against minorities.
