I recently cut my older sister out. I did not want to, but I felt I had to. Her boyfriend is an alt right fuckface, openly racist, openly bigoted to other religions (he's Baptist, go figure) and he and I got into it on social media months ago, shorty after the murder of George Floyd. He'd said something about how there are no bad cops that good cops have to worry about (that all cops are good, end of) and I pointed out that if good cops don't report wrongdoing by bad cops then there are no good cops, end of. He lost his fucking mind on me. My sister called me screaming at me, and I told her that if her boyfriend was going to be an absurd cock then I want nothing to do with him. She hung up, and I heard from my little sister that my older sister said I wanted nothing to do with her. I said that's bullshit, but whatever and let it go. Fuck them. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, my dad was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer which was very treatable so he's fine. I had been trying to reach out to my older sister for a while since our dad had cancer and all, but she took offense and I woke up one Sunday morning to my mother screaming at me about how awful I've been to my sister, so I lost it. I told her about how I'd given my older sister money to survive her covid furlough (older sister had said I gave it to her just because? what fucking sense does that make?) and before the falling out had told her not to worry about paying me back. I told my mother that I have spent more time and money going to visit them than they ever had done to visit me, and that if I'm the bad guy then they can all fuck off. Mother calmed down, said she didn't realize all that. Apparently my older sister told my parents that if they were defending me then she'd never let them see her kids again. I told her I'd tried speaking to my older sister, but straight up said if she'd rather date a nazi than have a younger brother then she's made her choice. SO because of that I sent a final message to my sister telling her to fuck off and blocked all forms of contact. Far as I'm concerned I only have a younger sister.

Family is a word. If they're bad people treat them like any other bad person. Get them the fuck out of your life. I just wish I'd done it sooner, I'd have an extra five hundred dollars in my pocket and two months less anxiety wearing me down.

Are they simply covering costs and sending all profits their way? Are they matching the price customers pay as a donation? None of these are exactly the same.

Have you considered the possibility that CDPR never even reached the proverbial goal post yet in the first place? This isn't as much of a big gesture as you're making it out to be. They're not donating, they're redirecting proceeds. They're also not committing to properly promote this, it's not on their official twitter, it's on a QA Lead's twitter page, for all of his 3,5k followers (as opposed to CDPR's 772k). Which is certainly odd, given the amount of money going to KPH depends directly on the sales, so if you're not promoting it properly, not a lot of people will be making a purchase.

And it begs the question: why is it not on their official account?

They aren't cutting checks, they're tweeting links to their store. The money going to this cause isn't even coming from CDPR, it's from the fans who buy the shirts. They're just "graciously" not taking their usual profit from each sale.

Exactly, it's doing the absolute bare minimum. If they were matching the donation total, or making a donation on their own I'd feel a little better about it.
