it's crazy but not surprising that for so many years all the US knew as far as metal gear 2 was the shitty nes spinoff that had nothing to do with the original series

I looked up a fan translation and figured out an msx emulator before it came over officially in subsistence and it was cool to see the evolution of the series and recognize music from vr missions

(vr missions is still awesome just for letting devs go wild in an engine rife with weird possibilities)

I love that the intro with theme of solid snake has the same vibe as the intro to escape from new york only up-tempo, sharing the white titles and vector computer graphics on a black background, great stuff
