What are you talking about? If anything I feel like the minority here where I guess most users are Christians and American. Their mentality towards some topics like sex or violence feels totally different from my culture. I've experienced several times that users are banned simply by having a different opinion or culture than the mod's or the majority.

I'm not surprised some Asian members don't feel welcome here. It's not as simple as racism. I think it's a matter of culture and "I have to be right" instead of just accepting there is more than one way.

If the only corroborating source you can find of this is National Review, Reason, and Campus Reform, who really don't hire any journalists but only hire opinion makers and obviously have a very clear ideological bent around this, I'd be skeptical of the original story. Yahoo News does not really have an editorial department that fact checks stories published by their freelancers.

Was this professor really placed on leave for using a Chinese word? That just seems very unlikely. Could there have been some other parts of this story that contributed to their leave? Is "A pause in teaching while we review this" being "put on leave?" THe semester just started, how long has this "pause" been going on for, what's the conditions of the "leave," when did he teach the class? Colleges, especially colleges like USC with enormous administrative staff and faculty review boards, don't just put their professors on leave without reviews. There's conversations with department chairs, students, administrative review boards; there's an enormous bureaucracy in colleges, especially state colleges.

The game is truly mighty. 9/10 is basically my score as well, unlike the 10/10 that is TLoU2. With that said, I had more fun with this game than literally anything out this year. It is IMHO the best combat gameplay among superhero games, and the story has as much heart as Marvel’s Spider-Man. It‘s deserving of all the praise it’s getting.

It was Capcom's decision to put two Juri outfits in the finals in the first place, which should've never happened. Especially given the absolutely fantastic rejections for any number of characters that weren't in the finals. With the reasons for being rejected wholly unknown.

And then putting the contest up for Twitter likes is dodgy in itself. Bots, sock puppets, brigading, etc., all there to muck things up. I can't see this contest being looked favorably upon down the road.

I always wondered how they would handle a suicide thread (or pseudo-suicide thread I guess) if the OP broke the TOS.  Well, looks like we have the answer: ban anyway.  It's interesting because people were for the most part being polite and trying to give good advice rather than pile on the OP, even known woke club members.
