If there wasn't already evidence for it, the way some on the left talk about Cuba is prime horseshoe theory shit. It's no wonder so many in Florida vote Republican when there's not a single public person associated with the right that refuse to place some of the blame on Cuba's government.
It's because a lot of people can't reconcile the fact that a dude writing about generic physical product manufacturing factories 150 years ago as the basis for broad socioeconomic analysis has little relevance in a world where capital isn't tied to any physical product like gold, and where you can become a billionaire by playing Fortnite on youtube, or writing a book about wizard school.
So they decided that Cuba is actually paradise on earth, but any minor flaws are all necessary to prevent big bad USA destroying their utopia.
It's basically just the equivalent of religious dogma at this point, and despite evidence to the contrary things must be true because it says so in their Holy Book.
