If you feel it is okay for an 18 year old to turn 18 ad make an OF on her birthday because she is a consenting adult, that's on you.
Why is that not okay...?
Do you consider 18 year olds adults? They are legally adults, but biologically? No.
This opens a new can of worms. When is one a biologically adult.
For women the 'biological' answer seems to be 'as soon as they can have children', which is when the clock starts ticking and in a number of countries we in the west consider "backwards" in Africa, Asia and the Middle East that is how they feel about it.
Others argue that genders don't exist and thus there is no such as thing as 'being biologically adult'. After all you can identify as a woman at age 6 without any of the biological necesseties.
I think that given how society works and where 18 year olds usually are in their life, 18 makes sense.
Mentally, 18 year olds are not nearly mentally developed enough to be making decisions that impact their life in the long term.
Most people aren't at any age. In fact if we would knew the outcome of our decisions we probably wouldn't be making any.
You will bring up the army or something, and yes, it applies to that too.
I think it should be 21 minimum.
It's often already difficult for parents/teachers to control 16 year olds that want to go out and party, let alone 21 year olds.
I think it would hurt more people than it would help.
I don't think the minimum age of consent is the problem here.
The real 'issue' (although some would argue that it isn't a problem) is that most thots seem to follow the exact same internet career path.
Facebook/Instagram -> YouTube/Twitch -> Patreon -> TikTok / Snapchat -> OnlyFans -> Promoting their content, casually dating on Reddit/Twitter/Tinder etc. -> Pornhub
The likes they used to get from friends in school are gradually replaced by subscribers and money.
Facebook/Instagram or rather any platform focused on sharing your private life and being rewarded with attention is a gateway drug to OnlyFans and creating adult content.
But of course we don't know if they would've headed for a stripclub, sugar daddy or a brothel anyway if these new opportunities didn't exist.
And then some would argue that being your own publisher and controlling what and how you share your content is the better alternative than the options they had before.
It always reminds me of those stories of Hollywood, where girls with dreams and fantasies would flock to LA thinking they'd be the next star, only to end up dancing in some bar or worse.
