From the brief few times I could see skimming through there's no longer the glitching out respawn effect when falling off the board? Saw that in some vid MMaRsu posted elsewhere. They always cut before it played out fully but seems like they actually get up this time which is good.

Edit: fuck EGS exclusivity.

I hope it turns out better than the last THPS HD.

Also for as much as I loved THPS, I tried the first Skate and couldn't do it. I thought the concept was good, but since I'm a fighting game scrub it wasn't fun.

xl is even coming to consoles already, but it's pretty bare bones feature and content wise

session very much wip, animations are janky af but the devs seem in it for the long haul at least

There was Project Session (or just "Session" now, i guess).
I dunno if it came out, but it was a bit too buggy when i tried it, the physics didn't feel too good, tbh.
There was another one i think, but i can't remember the name of it.

Skate 3 in hardcore mode is still the peak for me, hopefully they'll do a proper remaster at least, for now the best i can do is get an XboxOneX when it's super cheap, and play it in 4K there.

EDIT: The latest builds of SESSION are looking pretty good, i may give it a shot.

Skater analyzes various trick animations from the remake which seem to be based on HD rather than the original's style. Inconclusive whether there's more to it but interesting.

agree they definitely need the option to turn off the chatter/voices as why would anyone want that, but honestly aside from that this looks glorious. I just don't know what system I want on, I am thinking PS4 due couch and controller but PC is tempting. Then again EGS has sales quarterly so could likely double dip for cheap, who knows.

I do think Acti is making a huge mistake gating the demo and don't think locking it to pre-orders will net more sales than advertising a fucking warehouse demo 2.0. that or maybe partner with pizza hut again rather than fucking chipotle.

at least they went with an ok price point. I think game will be huge.

I'm looking forward to this, but not excited.

I used to be the Tony Hawk motherfucking master. I first played THPS on some bootleg disc that featured an unfinished version of the alien 51 site. Put dozens of hours into that with friends during high school. Then played them all and 100%'d them through THUG2 portable.

Couldn't get into Skate or any of the realistic ones because the combo/arcade style is what I play these for. Trying to keep a combo going across a huge level.

Hearing this plays like the originals with modern graphics is cool, it'll be fun to replay these games. But...I've already played them and 100%'d these levels & their challenges over dozens or hundred of hours.

I'd be way more excited if, like Crash 4, they took this THPS classic gameplay and made a new game with all new levels and challenges. Who knows since this is Activision like Crash, maybe if this sells really well that is what we will get.

Still picking this up day 1 and will probably 100% it.
