What happened to porches?

I seems new houses these days don't come built with porches. I grew up in the burbs and we had a porch.  It because people are just more antisocial these days?

Spying on your neighbors is a lot more efficient through apps like Zillow. Sitting on your porch and collecting data on them the old fashioned way is too time consuming.
