The fuck is white adjacent lol
And again, it must be said...This whole thing started with an off-script joke at the expense of Jada Pinkett Smith and her alopecia induced baldness.Jada, who has not commented publicly on this at all.And not only do people STILL refuse to see her as a victim here, she continues to take the butt of criticism and insults.Misogynoir.
dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against black women."misogynoir shows how sexism and racism manifest in black women's lives to create intersecting forms of oppression"
Making fun of a bald person is ableist now

What would the reaction be if willy had slapped a woman for making those jokes I wonder
The experiences of Black women continue to be minimized or outright erased in order to protect the feelings of white men. Same as is always is in Hollywood.
What would be the reaction if Will Smith shot tiny versions of Chris Rock out of his hands that are all the appetizers?

Will Smith doesn't even need the Oscars any more. Dumbass decision on their part. Guess they can go back to sheltering and supporting rapists and pedophiles instead. Because the ART!
I dunno why they're saying fuck the Oscars if they're still gonna watch anyway.
Rich celebrities don't want us poors slipping in there lol
Al Pacino recalled attending the 1975 Oscars under the influence of marijuana during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel. Apparently, the show was not going the way he’d anticipated. “I’m sitting there, and it wasn’t at all like you expect. … I sat there in this big event, and I was with a friend” Pacino said. “And I had a few things… I was not completely myself, so everything is tolerable.” A newcomer to the Oscars at that point, Pacino was around a lot of unfamiliar faces. He noticed that Jeff Bridges was sitting right next to him, and decided he wanted to chat for a bit. Unfortunately, Bridges hadn’t seen any of Pacino’s work, so he didn’t know who he was and made no attempt to be friendly. “I turned to Jeff Bridges, and the strangest way, he was just sitting there,” Pacino recalled. “‘Cause he was also nominated. And I said, ‘Hi.’ ‘Cause I didn’t know him, so I knew he was Jeff Bridges, but I’d never met him. So I said, ‘Hi.’ He said, ‘Yes, hi.’ Okay. He hasn’t seen my films, right?”Despite Bridges’ standoffish attitude, Pacino pressed on. He was worried that the show would conclude before the Best Actor award was announced, and needed reassurance. “But I look at him, and I said, ‘I don’t think they’re gonna get to the Best Actor category,” Pacino said. “So he looked at me, and he said, ‘What do you mean?’”Bridges, still not amused by Pacino, couldn’t believe what he was hearing. He impatiently revealed to Pacino that the show runs for three hours, not one. “I said, ‘Well it’s an hour, and it’s over. And they didn’t get to that category,’” Pacino said. “He gave me a look, ‘til this day I’ll never forget it. Like, ‘Where do you come from, who are you?’ And I just looked at him, and he said, ‘It’s three hours.’”Pacino was devastated. “That collapsed me,” Pacino said. “What am I gonna do for the next two hours?”

But also we MUST respect a woman who cheated on her husband with their sons best friend who was practically adopted, has a public roundtable about it and is clearly driving Will into mental instability with the older insta posts popping back up recentlyBuT iT wAs A mEaN jOkE = deserves to be assaulted.Shitty person, makes shitty joke about another shitty person, and person we liked responds with a shitty choice and is now dealt shitty consequences. The end. This picking sides shit is laughable

Pointing out he's cringe is one thing but i'm not cool with bullying, especially on someone who is clearly unable to defend themselves.Meh, you moderate Reeeeesetera you're fair game

Quotewhats the punishment for Rock? Nothing probably.Exactly, since he did nothing wrong.
whats the punishment for Rock? Nothing probably.
Speaking specifically on Rogan and Chappelle, he said “A lot of people believe both of them are doing what they do in good faith. It’s not cynical. It’s not CNN or Fox. It doesn’t feel to most people like they’re trying to sell something. People are looking for other people to interact with in good faith. Because a lot of this rage is artificial. People have emotional diabetes and don’t even know it.”
illy Crystal says Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars was 'an assault'
Ezra uses they/them pronouns btw. If you didn't know then please edit your post.
I didn't use any pronouns in my post?
Isn't dude gender neutral?
Ask a straight guy what dude he wants to sleep with and you'll see how gender neutral it is.
I've definitely seen and heard girls call over girls "dude" before, I thought it was sort of neutral too
Yeh, but it illustrates the point on how gender neutral it actually is doesn't it. It's a broader topic around how gender neutral terms like guy and dude just happen to be male coded language and never female coded, like men can't be bothered to adapt their language to be gender neutral so the language for men gets adapted to suddenly be 'for everyone'.Like it happens and I have friends call me dude and I call girlfriends dude but if you ask a straight guy what dude or what guy they fancy it falls apart real quick. It's a minor rub but it's an interesting conversation when you look a bit deeper into the language and what terms women are just supposed to accept as gender neutral because men tell them it is, when they're historically masculine terms. Bro is moving in the same way.
Whew chile!A quick lesson in misogynoir, since I'm becoming aware that not a lot of people know what that term means. You see, as much as this country hates women, this country especially hates Black women.Jada wouldn't have even had to physically strike Chris. If you think rich white folks are clutching their pearls and ordering fainting couches online over what Will, a Black man, did... Imagine what the reaction would have been if Jada, a Black woman, had defended herself in ANY way.Evidence: look at what's happening to her NOW, and she ain't even said shit. And Will as a Black man definitely knew this.
Between you and me, I can assure you I've had more experience with slapping harassers in public, and I never even got into a single security guard's desk.

*wife is getting verbally abused*Wife: "Aren't you going to do something!?"Me: "Sorry babe, the internet says that if I do anything, it's toxic masculinity."*puts on sunglasses and turns up my music*
OK, that's going too far in the other direction here. That actually WOULD be toxic masculinity. And thinking that Will Smith responding to a shitty joke about his wife with a slap is toxic masculinity, doesn't mean you're a troll. I certainly would not be happy if my partner slapped someone who insulted me.It also doesn't mean that the reactions to Will Smith from the academy and the media at large haven't been comically disproportionate and excessively stupid, but can we stop with the whole "if you don't have my exact takeaway on this you're a troll" shit? Just once?
I'm honestly disgusted by all of this. All this is telling me is ableism is just considered okay, it's okay to mock (and in Chris's case, target someone in particular for years) people to have physical or mental conditions, we deserve to be mocked and if we or our love one respond, the arsehole is treated as the victim; we're just meant to sit there and accept that we're considered a joke.I'm not surprised, the Oscars is a place that has rewarded people playing caricatures of people with disabilities and other issues for decades. I'm not surprised the Oscars would thank people who mock us.Did Will slapping Chris go to far? But 10 years for standing up against an ableist shit, yeah no; just fuck the Oscars. Fuck every comedian who's praising this and going to use it to mock disabled people.

“I accept and respect the Academy’s decision,” Smith said in a succinct statement soon after AMPAS made their POV public.“My actions at the 94th Academy Awards presentation were shocking, painful, and inexcusable. The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home. I betrayed the trust of the Academy. I deprived other nominees and winners of their opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work. I am heartbroken. I want to put the focus back on those who deserve attention for their achievements and allow the Academy to get back to the incredible work it does to support creativity and artistry in film.”
Lol. That forum cannot discuss anything.
Lmao some of y'all are so vanilla and it shows.
You'd think a forum that even blames women making fun of short guys on toxic masculinity would recognize the toxic masculinity in instantly reacting with violence

Why doesn't the FTC look at he implications of timed/full exclusivity deals and how it's competitor has managed to garner the majority of third party revenue? I would think that has proven to have bigger ramifications than buying Activision will. The FTC should enforce rules such as 6 month max timed deals.Quote from: BiosnakeThink it took about 2 years for that one. This "hurts" a lot more people here because console wars are involved, it changes how acquisitions are viewed, and consolidation comes up as a subject for the first time in a while for the industry. But mostly console wars. Think about how the console wars were created in the first place, it was usually pertaining to 1st party content. Then over the years what has happened is one platform became the default platform to get because it contained the majority of third party support. That to me is far more influential over the years than people choosing one over the other because of Call of Duty.Besides, Microsoft already said that franchise will remain and also go to additional platforms like Switch.

Who gives a shit?I slapped the shit out of my annoying, needling, endlessly judgmental cousin every day of every summer vacation for fourteen fucking years until I managed to convince my parents to stop dragging me to his stupid house every summer.
