So I was celebrating my friend’s engagement party at some banquet hall, and I was like the only openly emo there. I have (unnatural, lol) emo hair.
At one point, I went to the bathroom, and then just took a little break in the main hallway of the venue by leaning against the wall while texting emo shit on my phone about how all depressed n swizzle I was.
Then, suddenly, even though I was minding my own damn business, some fuckin goth approaches me with a super smug look on his face, and asks me in my home country’s goth language:
“why have you got emo hair?” I asked him to repeat himself, he said, “Why is your hair all wrong?”
I said “It represents my inner turmoil.”
And he continued having this smug ass look while saying “Your inner turmoil? Lol. What a plastic.” And then walked away laughing loudly like a bat.
And then some worker that was right behind him said “ It’s ok emo guy I like your gay hair. It’s cute.” It made me uncomfortable. I choked out a quick thanks and brushed past him so he wouldn’t see my emo tears ruining my mascara.
I mean I’m not crazy right ? It’s pretty racist to make fun of someone’s emo hair
Yeah this is not even CLOSE to being close to being close to the racism and harassment that other emos and women of the emo persuasion face, so maybe this thread is tone-deaf and laughable, but man it didn’t feel good. I mean it’s one thing if this was some random rapper or metal head attending the event, but this was a fucking goth having a go.
Now I remember why I try to avoid “culturally traditional” events/settings. Even in California, the chances of unnecessary comments and nasty looks from other goths is fairly high. Sorry I have emo hair lol.
Mods pls close if this comes across as tarded
