This is the last place I want to be asking this question, but I literally have no friends and don't really talk to my family.

I've been married for 11 years. We have two children, a soon to be 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter. I'm 40 and my wife is 33. So, yeah, she was young when we had our first child and we got married when she was pregnant with our second. I don't think I've ever really been in love with her, but moreso married her for the sake of the children. Sure, we have some good times, but I generally dislike her most of the time. But she has no idea. And to be clear, there is no other woman and I'm not cheating or anything. I just hate coming home.

I've thought about divorce for a long time. I tear up just thinking about it because I do care for her and want what's best for her and my kids. I know she would be devastated if I left. There's also the child support aspect and if I could even afford to live on my own. She has a decent job and makes around 55k a year. I'm a bit more at 75k a year. I'm in Illinois, which is an alimony state. My rough calculation is I'd have to pay about 1500 a month. Which is fine, I'd pay whatever is necessary to make sure my kids are getting what they need. I just don't know if I can afford my own place while paying that much. I've made some poor financial decisions and am paying 250 a month for a car that was repossessed some years ago and 250 a month to the IRS for back taxes, which kind of hampers things a lot.

I know I should be talking to a lawyer, not here. I'm just afraid to make that first step. I feel like a failure.I'll feel like I betrayed my family. I spend hours every night playing with my kids. I can't help but think they'll resent me. It just sucks and I don't know what to do.
