So I have 2.gigs this weekend and for one of them they asked me about the included liquor for this party. I shoot them a list and while they were cool with the list, they made some request for a fewer high end brands ( Patron, Goose, Dusse, etc)

In my experience, people can not tell the difference in most mixed drinks unless you are using bottom shelf stuff. I don't carry bottom shelf unless I'm making a punch or a limoncello. However, if I need to rebuy more liquor before this gig it will hinder my margins a bit but I will.

I have a gig tomorrow night but they don't give a damn what I make them, long as it's wet.

I always find it funny the amount of people who have put zero actual effort into pushing back on thread creation or advocating for limitations on threads about Blizzard, Ubisoft etc. and only raise the topic as a means to whine about Cyberpunk being restricted (which was, fundamentally, a decision based on impact to the community here as opposed to any distinct severity of issue with CDPR, at a time where it was being hype-manned continuously by an unabashed Trump supporter).

Almost like it's more about wanting a new Cyberpunk thread in the main listing than any actual concern for the issues, which would be better presented on their own merits to staff members but no one is actually bothered enough to push for that case in earnest.

Spare me the 'wahh people are so unfair to CDPR' bullshit as well. Threads about the company and The Witcher are fine and have been active for ages now.

Won't happen. Even after CDPR fired an insensitive staff member, apologized for some admittedly stupid insensitive comments and donated a large amount and continues to donate a large amount of money to affected communities, this will never happen. This forum found it's brand new scratching post in CDPR and they will now always be their scratching post for when the need arises. People need enemies to justify their cause and to keep the momentum up, this rule will never, ever be dropped.

Which is fine but why is Activision Blizzard and Ubisoft being treated differently? I don't see any logical reason why they shouldn't be added to this ban list.

because then you can use the word "woman" to refer to anyone who wants to be called a woman, but use "vagina haver" when you're addressing the concerns specific to the subset of the population who actually menstruate or suffer from cervical/ovarian cancer

you don't talk about "women's greatest cancer risks" because some women don't have to worry about most of those and have to worry about prostate cancer instead

The cable companies don't remove money makers from their packages. You want to see a shit storm? Have the giant cable companies who all hold local monopolies announce they're removing some of the most popular channels (not just Fox News, it'd be the entire Fox package) because they don't like the content and don't want anyone to be able to watch them.

As for why they aren't being investigated, because it's not a crime to just say shit in America. Yet.

I've never been a big theme park person. I'm not one of those Disney fanatics that has treasured childhood memories of Disney and goes to the parks 20 times a year. However, as a resident of Florida, I have in years past had an annual pass to the parks so that I could spontaneously visit for a day or two with friends/family whenever they wanted to go. Just ~5 trips per year and the annual pass paid for itself, so it was worth it financially.

It’s weird for me, I’ve followed him on Twitter for ages and think he’s often hilarious there. But whenever I see clips of his actual show or in commercials I think they’re painfully unfunny.

Good for him. I've honestly never really love him as The Daily Show host but his future is absolutely bright.

I gave him many tries, but he never grew into the role IMO. Wish him the best, but someone new could be good for the show

Trevor's content during the pandemic was my favorite, among late night hosts. He was super relatable in those days, in a way that surpassed Colbert, Seth, etc.

It did smack of a lot of untapped potential, though.
