It's not that people are open to the idea of any government entity spying on them. The question is why should anyone be up in arms about China doing this when their home country, and probably other foreign nations aside from China, have already been tracking them for decades? The toothpaste isn't just out of the tube; it's been dried up on the counter for months.
Because it’s government tends to bully other governments and companies for perceived slights not only from groups but from individuals. Something that has been well known for years.
