I actually kind of agree with Nepenthe there.  A lot of progressives have certain ethnic groups that they're allowed to make fun - even going as far as using ethnic slurs, if they're not in the no-no category.  I find it hard to believe these people indulge in that sort of stereotyping without harboring some other stereotypes about other groups.  They just don't show it.    This would all make a lot more sense coming from her if she wasn't insanely racist, though.

Unfortunately there's a lot of people from oppressed groups whose problem with oppresion isn't so much that it exists and more that they're the victims rather than the ones stomping the boot. It's true for all oppressed groups. There are shitty black people, shitty gay people, shitty women, shitty transpeople, and shitty jews (as a Jew myself you just have to look at a lot of what's going on in Israel to see that). It's disappointing, but people have a tendency to be shit like that unfortunately, and even when we bad together in the face of a common enemy it often falls apart the moment that enemy is defeated (see: India and Pakistan after winning independence from Britain)
