Tesla owners who also drive another vehicle are 50% less likely to have an accident in their Tesla compared to in their other vehicles, according to an interesting new study looking at EV drivers who drive multiple vehicles.

The study is coming from Cambridge Mobile Telematics, which collects telematics data from millions of vehicles.

At the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety Charging Into an Electrified Future Conference this week, the group released findings from a study of how behaviors and safety change for electric vehicle drivers when they drive their EVs compared to any other vehicle.

Interestingly, EV drivers are much less likely to crash in their EV than in their other vehicles, but there’s a big discrepancy between brands.

For example, the study found that Tesla owners are about 50% less likely to crash their EV than any other vehicle they operate while it’s the opposite for Porsche EV owners.

Surprised Doctor Strange beat it but I expect the legs on Black Panther to be better.

Is it that surprising? NWH was practically the entirety of the hype campaign for Strange 2, and when your hype campaign is one of the most commercially successful films ever, you better believe that you're going to see that reflected in the opening weekend.

Honestly, it speaks highly to how well WF did here that despite being 40 minutes longer and decidedly less hype-inducing with there being no real "who are they going to hint at for MCU next and which cameo actor is going to play them" and far more somber due to the circumstances surrounding it that the gap was as close as it was in the end.

Between someone wondering how “anyone” is hyped for what looks to be the dream Harry Potter game and the bitter tears that it’s being celebrated, the games release and inevitable massive sales will make for at least one all timer of a thread over there.

I must admit I’m looking forward to the cognitive dissonance of that game making a fortune even after Joanne has destroyed the franchise and no one cares about it anymore.

Regarding Joanne. Saw people hyping up the game for, and this isn’t a bit, the selection and quality of black hair styles in the character creator. Praise for going the extra mile for inclusiveness etc.

There’s also a story going around about the Fantastic Beasts movies getting cancelled, like in real life. Blame is placed on Joanne and Ezra controversies. But doing my due diligence, all sites are linking to pink news as the source. Pink news source is “trust me.” On the other end of dubious reporting, the previous WB administration wanted to make a Cursed Child movie series. JK shot that down. Now this Zaslav guy is trying to reopen those discussions. This story originated from some place called puck news. And some more reputable sites are citing it. A third rumor I heard, originating from thebore.com, claims comedian Dave Chappelle is in talks to play Hagrid.

Does Kratos get any accountability or acknowledgment of the horrific crimes he did against innocent folks in the previous trilogy, like having a half-naked sex slave chained to a crank and being crushed to death (there's a rape joke in the trophies)? How is something like Nibel nominated but not say Digital Foundry? You know content creators that I actually want to hear what they say about video games?

Like DF is the perfect example of game content that couldn’t exist outside our modern era and has become almost an institution. Hell they’ve outgrown Eurogamer.

That Nibel thread is really a perfect example of Era being old and out of touch.  "I don't know these other massively famous content creators that could get Era ddos'd forever in an instant if they cared to do so, so instead I'm going to vote for the guy that tweeted news stories from other sources."

I got nothing against the guy and have had nice conversations with him, but he isn't a content creator.

My Mom was immediately understanding, as she has been throughout my entire transition. She knew what it was like for her daughter to buy something just because all the other girls had one.

With so many transfems deeply engrained in global meme culture, they knew about the potiental of BLÅHAJ before anyone else. So with a military degree of swiftness, they captured BLÅHAJ for themselves. The shark was on estrogen. The shark loved pickles. The shark loved everyone, even if other people thought they were a little bit big and awkward in spaces. A cute soul in an intimidating body.

Meme culture is all about awareness. So before most of the general public knew what a BLÅHAJ was, they knew it was a trans thing. Online communities have been quick to exclaim that BLÅHAJ is for everyone, but the role the shark has within this specific region of queer culture is undeniable. I know more trans women who have BLÅHAJ than who have health insurance.

Early adoption of a meme incites ownership. Like it or not, the internet’s attention span is a game of first come, first serve. Trans women simply got to BLÅHAJ first. I didn’t get to be a girl. I never will. It’s okay. That lack of experience is depressing, but it also defines my femininity. Because I have sisters who made the same realizations, nostalgia locked to a different sort of shared experiences. Male lives, but from the outside looking in. Little boys who didn’t quite get why the other boys were wrestling, if they even got invited to the birthday party in the first place. Spending long nights on Sailor Moon or Ranma 1/2. This is somewhere I could fit in, even if I didn’t share all the same qualities.

Our forum accounts replaced by Twitter pages and Twitch streams, we found each other again. On new forums under new names, or in threads about the sequel to the sequel of a remake you loved as a kid. We connected. A culture grew. After years of talking ourselves down, deciding that we deserved to be ignored by the masses — the girls spoke up. The growth of nerd power on the internet (a factor that has made everyone else’s life worse but mine much more enjoyable), led to us driving a conversation of memes and culture. The lowest wrung of society, but one we knew like the back of our suspiciously manicured hands.

So we took BLÅHAJ. The cute little dork who we all would have fawned over as girls. The cute phenomenon that crams the airwaves and overwhelms the multiplexes. But we didn’t get to speak up back then. Or rather, our voices were heard loudly, but in the wrong direction. The cute little shark gave us all something to rally behind. A joke that we’re clinging onto today, even if it makes those outside the community cringe. BLÅHAJ makes us happy. The curved bastard just makes us feel good, and we get to decide how often we see one — without any judgement over what it means to another class or subclass of people. Cultural ownership is often an invisible force. Let the girls take this one.
