FF12 tells an extremely intriguing story about whether Ashe will be lured into using weapons of mass destruction to avenge her family and her kingdom.

And then there's like 30 straight hours of gameplay with almost no story happening.

..... So the story kind of dies.

FF12 is a 60 hour main-path game with a story designed around a 30 hour long game... And that really hurts the story a lot.

Just slicing out a lot of the gameplay only chapters and pushing them to being sidequest areas would help this game so much.

This shouldn’t even be controversial. It’s the truth. There’s nothing as a game that it does beyond what other Spider-man games have done. It just has great production values, presentation, and is arguably executed well.

I get to the second phase and his delays just don't make any sense to me so he ALWAYS hits me. On the rare chance I actually do deflect him it doesn't even stun him and he just keeps attacking. This isn't what I want out of an action game. Two-phase bosses suck, and the first boss should not be one. Full stop.

Did you do the tutorial area? the weapon swap parry also seemed pretty effective. Both are demonstrated in the tutorial (which is located in an awkward isolated instance just like Nioh). I don't blame anyone for missing that one.

Related to my prior post and not to go all James Lindsay on you, because I doubt most of these people have ever read more than the first sentence of Wikipedia about it, but the main thesis of basically all capital-T Theory is that everything is about political power and the only way to not be oppressed is to seize political power so you can oppress them/the other/the Right/etc. first and permanently.

This stuff has gone mainstream, but never in the way these dudes think. MAGA/Trump is clearly a product of it. For some reason the "Left" just constantly assumes that Bad People can't understand and exploit their simple concepts and language.

I think to me what makes me a lot more worried is the framework within conservative culture that has built up and hardened that feels no shame, is aggressively ignorant, and is dehumanizing the “other” to the point of advocating violence in a way that is reminiscent of the Civil Rights and KKK era. And moreover, it’s mainstreamed in a way that I just didn’t think possible even a decade ago.

 

Related to my prior post and not to go all James Lindsay on you, because I doubt most of these people have ever read more than the first sentence of Wikipedia about it, but the main thesis of basically all capital-T Theory is that everything is about political power and the only way to not be oppressed is to seize political power so you can oppress them/the other/the Right/etc. first and permanently.

This stuff has gone mainstream, but never in the way these dudes think. MAGA/Trump is clearly a product of it. For some reason the "Left" just constantly assumes that Bad People can't understand and exploit their simple concepts and language.

edit: If you remember the Sokal hoax, what upset all the Theorists wasn't the content of the paper being nonsense including the quotes from the experts in the field, they loved it obviously and thought it would aid their goal that SCIENCE MUST FALL, they were upset that his intent was to make fun of and criticize them.

The saga does indeed continue

thanks to the CNN article I was able to finish the email I'm sending around my office, get it approved and sent off. The equity team helped make it way more civil and work appropriate which I unfortunately get, but at least I'm getting it done. I sent it off today. Still not entirely hopeful as basically my boss and HR are trying to have a cake situation where both myself and others are happy but at least they humored me this far :I

They swore Kang was gonna bring in audiences. For some reason. Despite Joe Average having no idea who Kang is and his star is beginning to shine but most still don’t know who Jonathan Majors is yet. Ant-Man made what it made opening weekend because it was the newest MCU movie to check out. That’s it.

Weekend two is looking at a truly horrendous 70-72% drop. General audiences have spoken.

Also, Multiverse and time travel stuff is probably too wacky for mainstream audiences in the long run. Is already a pain in the ass if they decide to use it in comic events.
