I don't think there's anything wrong with considering how a tragedy can affect the community/marginalized group you're part of. It's not like lawmakers haven't used stuff like that as justification for some pretty horrific shit in the past.
That said, it shouldn't be your first thought, and you ESPECIALLY shouldn't be looking for explanations that undermine or lowkey justify the perpetrator's mindset like this shit
Things like this shouldn't happen to kids. Shootings are never okay and gun control needs to be enacted for everybody. I thought the same thing the rest of you did when I read about the shooter's identity. I'm glad they can't hurt anyone anymore, but I just can't say I'd be surprised if this was in part due to the mental stress currently being put on transgender people around the country right now. The GOP is trying to push these kinds of outcomes, which we all know is part of the fascist playbook. And its not like the care about the people getting killed as a result.
Especially amusing coming from the same type of people that like to undermine men's problems with "trans people and women are a lot worse off, yet they aren't shooting up schools" or "mental illness never made me a bigot" or whatever else they have in their arsenal to turn every group they can into a monolith.
