Why do the PlayStation titles of today feel like they've lost a certain....something?

Is it less pizzazz?

Is it less creativity?

No weekend era..... its the whimsy.

I went through all of the PlayStation Published titles listed on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sony_Interactive_Entertainment_video_games and labelled every single game as either whimsical, not whimsical, or sports. Sports games (unless particularly whimsical such as the Hot Shots/Everybody's Golf series) were subsequently removed from this analysis.

And weekend era.... the data is shocking.

Through the PS1 and PS2 era approximately half of the titles were whimsical. The percentage would actually be much high Interesting enough there was a huge jump in whimsy in the early PS3 gen due to a large number of casual title (Buzz, Sing Star), experimental games (Tokyo Jungle, Echo Chrome, Little Big Planet), and PSP (a generally whimsical system).

But since 2007, there has been a clear drop in whimsy over the years. In fact I had to remove some of the whimiscal title post 2007 because they were just relreleases of games from a more whimsical time. In fact there have been ZERO whimsical titles released by PlayStation in 2023.

The world is a more serious place. Sad dads, sad lads, and sad ladies are selling like gangbusters. The Parappas, Apes, Flashes, Jaks, Daxters, Slys, Puppeteers, Dans, Folklores, Buzzs, Pons, Locos, and the Rocos are gone like dust in the wind.

So if you catch yourself wondering "Why does PlayStation just feel....different?". My friends....its the loss of whimsy.

I feel like they're taking the piss out of nintendumbs but who knows they could be serious. Always hard to tell with era.

I’m planning to sit down and watch Rosemary’s Baby for the first time today-but it bothers me that Roman Polanski directed it. He’s a vile human but I’ve read so much praise for this and Possession.

After the Michael Jackson allegations and truths came out I always change the station when his music comes on-but then again I love the music of Led Zeppelin despite finding out recently that Jimmy Page conducted a relationship with a teenager. Hard to enjoy it after that. And I stopped listening to Arcade Fire after Win Butler’s allegations.

Is this silly? Can one enjoy the art that was produced by a creep and simultaneously accept that it was produced by someone monstrous?

No good, what the OP needs to do is arm up against this fascist garbage. At least one gun should be big enough to paint in appropriate gender flag colors to signal support for the marginalized. Then take to a public position outside where all the filth can hear and let them know about how their loser subhuman behavior is destroying his mental health and that he will not allow his community to be exterminated. Remember, Nazis are cowards so just a little display of resistance like this and they'll crumble immediately. Moved here from Texas after being in Texas my whole life of 28 years.

No one cares about some fat guy with no social skills working out. And if you had social skills, people are happy to help and give advice. Most are there for the same reason. But since 2007, there has been a clear drop in whimsy over the years. In fact I had to remove some of the whimiscal title post 2007 because they were just relreleases of games from a more whimsical time. In fact there have been ZERO whimsical titles released by PlayStation in 2023.

The world is a more serious place. Sad dads, sad lads, and sad ladies are selling like gangbusters. The Parappas, Apes, Flashes, Jaks, Daxters, Slys, Puppeteers, Dans, Folklores, Buzzs, Pons, Locos, and the Rocos are gone like dust in the wind.

I just want to express how safe everyone from Allen believes their town to be. Allen/McKinney/Plano frequently top suburb lists of America for safest places to raise your children. It is absolutely peaceful where crime is practically unheard of. The streets are Disney immaculate and there’s no trash or suspicious looking activity hanging around. Part of that is due to annoying/bad reasons like ultra vigilant HOA/PTA moms and pearl-clutching bigots that wouldn’t dare let a vagabond walk those streets without calling the police, but regardless, the town is impressionable for being safe. Going to that outlet mall on a breezy sunny day is a delightful experience. The prices are insane and the selection of good brand stores makes it awesome. Stacy Rd is home to the largest assortment of restaurants and fast food and diners I’ve ever seen, and it’s next to ANOTHER 2 malls. Allen is a fast growin, super fast price-escalating Texas suburb. Frequently known as one of the best places to grow up. It’s home to the biggest high school football stadium in the US.

That’s why this is like, absolutely hair-raising and chilling to me. I went there on Saturdays. It really could have been me. Yesterday would have been the perfect day to check out the outlets and buy a shirt or pair of pants and get some food. Just any old peaceful day in Allen.

I’m disgusted.

M.O.B.A. Network AB (publ) (the “Company”) has entered into a conditional agreement to acquire all shares in the French entity Wargraphs S.A.S (“the “Target”) (the “Acquisition”), a leading gaming services provider and in-game application developer for League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra. The consideration for the Acquisition amounts to a maximum of EUR 50.0 million, of which EUR 25.0 million is payable upfront (the “Initial Consideration”) plus an additional consideration of up to a maximum of EUR 25.0 million based on the Target achieved EBITDA for 12 and 24 months.

The Company has mandated Nordea Bank Abp as sole bookrunner to arrange credit investor meetings commencing on 8 May 2023 to explore the possibility to issue floating rate EUR denominated senior secured bonds with an expected volume of EUR 25.0 million within a framework of EUR 60.0 million and maturity in May 2026 (the “Bonds”). The Bonds have been underwritten by a consortium of investors who have committed to subscribe for the issue. A capital markets transaction will follow, subject to market conditions. The net proceeds from the issuance of the Bonds will be used towards financing the Initial Consideration. In connection with the issuance of the Bonds, the Company will also refinance its outstanding term loan using existing cash on balance.

THE ACQUISITION IN BRIEF AND FINANCIAL EFFECTS

The Target is a leading gaming services provider and in-game application developer providing players with key statistics and data for popular games such as League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra. The Target operates as a digital publisher with revenues primarily stemming from sales of advertising inventory via its web communities and its world leading in-game application (Porofessor). Per 2021/22 (fiscal period ending 30 Nov 2022), the Target generated 12-month rolling adj. net sales and adj. EBITDA of EUR 12.3 million and EUR 8.4 million, respectively. Operating cash flow for the same period amounted to approx. EUR 6.6 million.

The remaining consideration not payable upfront will be payable in increments of maximum EUR 12.5 million in 2024 and 2025, respectively, contingent on previous year’s EBITDA performance of the Target (the “Earn-Out”). The Company intends to finance up to EUR 10.0 million of the Earn-Out via share issues in kind to the seller of the Target. The purchase agreement regarding the Acquisition has been signed subject to financing of the Initial Consideration.

THE TRANSACTION IN BRIEF AND RATIONAL OF THE ACQUISTION

    The company strategy is to grow organically and through acquisitions with the focus on building and acquiring communities for large and already established games.
    The Target will diversify and add new products to M.O.B.A portfolio.
    The acquisition of Wargraphs will add approximately 800,000 daily average app users on average to M.O.B.A. which will strengthen the group and potentially enable better economy of scale in discussion with add brokers and other partners.
    The Porofessor app has almost 10 million downloads as per today and the websites have recorded +4.5bn page views since launch.
    The Porofessor app is used worldwide and has a particularly strong audience in North America and Europe.
    Per 2021/22 (fiscal period ending 30 Nov 2022), the Target generated 12-month rolling adj. net sales and adj. EBITDA of EUR 12.3 million and EUR 8.4 million, respectively. Operating cash flow for the same period amounted to approx. EUR 6.6 million.
    The Target will contain cash of approximately Euro 2.0- 2.5 million (according to management and seller estimation) as the Acquisition and earn-out period will start from 1 of December 2022.
    Pro forma for the Acquisition, M.O.B.A. is expected to display 2022 EBITDA of approx. SEK 126m with a corresponding margin profile of 29 %, primarily driven by an overall higher margin profile for application advertisements, as well as a lean overhead cost structure for the Target.

I’m planning to sit down and watch Rosemary’s Baby for the first time today-but it bothers me that Roman Polanski directed it. He’s a vile human but I’ve read so much praise for this and Possession.
