the entire rest of the planet is not a "fringe space". it's a fucked up, regressive system that americans should have an interest in dismantling.
if it was a pro-worker system you'd see waitstaff arguing for it in countries where the minimum wage is actually enforced. it's one of the few aspects of US capitalism that absolutely nowhere else is willing to adopt, because taking the steps to doing so would be plainly ridiculous
Or perhaps those workers don't know that they'll benefit and the cops help deliberately keep them in ignorance to continue to force a more exploitative system on them much like the highly regressive tax and subsidy systems those states also operate for the benefit of an oligarchical elite more difficult to displace?
Remember white supremacy, capitalism, colonialism, fascism, transphobia, etc. are all part of the same oppressive system and we're supposed to believe those highly white highly monocultural countries with monopoly captured economies are more pro-worker and pro-democratic than a multicultural country that allows workers the flexibility of superior terms? Remember many of these totally white ass countries have fascist style "negotiations" between monopoly players in industries rather than allow for any kind of competition. No no no no no this doesn't add up at all.
