It's all like that Whoopi clip above, they "feel" it's not good anymore, they "feel" the wrong people are back, they "feel" the whole vibe is ruined, Elon is messing with their follows, Elon is sending trolls to their replies, Elon is stopping their tweets from trending, Elon is desperately searching for his name to find all the criticism of him so he can silence it, etc. They want to DO SOMETHING about the horrific injustice of rich people owning their favorite website but all they can do is not post so they have to come up with a bunch of justifications for why this is somehow principled to do so they can be praised for it. I have the Twitter app on my phone because at one point the videos weren't playing in Chrome but did in the app. But I've never used it otherwise. (I don't actually "go on Twitter" on my phone but for like embedded Bire video or something.) I go to the website for Twitter. But wait, there's more. I basically don't follow anyone but people I know and a few legacy follows from like 2009 or so. I literally go to the url for the account I want to look at. Like BadLegalTakes above, I don't follow it I just type t and "twitter.com" comes up and and I put "badlegaltakes" (or pick one of the suggestions) and then go to the page and look at it.

I actually understand why some Blue Checks are so mad about the $8 thing. Blue Checks get special views of their feed unlike everyone else. You look at some of the Blue Checks, they're following thousands upon thousand of accounts. Just look at like MovieBob's follows and it'd be impossible to actually read the normal feed, he follows every comic movie person, a bunch of comic movie "news" accounts, a bunch of porn, brands like McDonalds and Pepsi, all kinds of idiots who tweet 50 tweet long threads multiple times a day, horrible politics accounts, etc. His feed would be full of shit constantly and it seems impossible for a human to actually see everything new on it. And that's for a guy who actually spends his entire life on Twitter from waking up to passing out.

If I go on Twitter once or even a couple times a day I want to see what's "new" from that specific account whose page I'm going to, it actually took me a while a few years ago to realize this (and the more normal just checking on your own follows once to see what's new) was not how everyone else was using Twitter. For them getting fed an unending deluge of shit to get mad about NOW NOW NOW is the prime feature of Twitter. Many of the replacements being mentioned don't do this as well (or at all) as Twitter does.
