I completely forgot most of those existed (save for some of the more recent ones like sealab and spaceghost), when someone mentions H-B what usually comes to mind is old stuff like this

40's-60's H-B always had awful animation and boring cartoons but usually made up for it with some really charming character designs.

40's- 60's H-B? You mean pre Huckleberry Hound H-B? Or is Tom and Jerry included?
IYKYK

What does it matter if the poster of the comment is an idiot or not?

The point is, gaming age's moderators behave like idiot manchildren, jealously guarding their turf and lashing out blindly when their toes are stepped on.

What matters is that his comment was just as distinguished mentally-challenged as he is, and deserved duckroll's response, but I know that it's hard to agree given your immense hate of GAF (and the mods).

I like gaming age, as evidenced by the fact that I've posted there since the site was in its original incarnation.

I dislike many of the moderators because they are no better than the majority of the posters: no more intelligent, no more rational, no more patient, no more understanding. Their behaviors are that of selfish, spoiled children. As I've stated before, they're all Dwight Schrutes, reveling in the tiny amount of power they've been given.

If you think it's cool that moderators lash out harshly over the tiniest comment, man, I'd love to see the authoritarian state you hold close to your bosom.

Tom and Jerry included, but "awful animation" doesn't really apply to it. It's entirely different from their 50's stuff but they're still solid characters and usually had some really nice background art going on.
I do prefer the flat, bold outlined characters from the late 50's+ though.

These are the three different eras:

Hanna-Barbera era (1940 – 1958)
Gene Deitch era (1960 – 1962) [Soviet cartoons? In my America? It's more likely than you think!]
Chuck Jones era (1963 – 1967)

You know what's funny? I grew up thinking that the Chuck Jones era was the oldest one because of the stale art design and the animations.

I dunno, you could be thinking of the Chuck Jones cartoons as well. Not exactly the high point of his career.

You know, Hanna-Barbera takes a bad rap for their low-budget limited animation style, which does look pretty crappy compared to theatrical cartoons from the 40's and 50's, but that was just the realities of doing a weekly cartoon series back in those days. There are other non-HB series from the same era that look a lot worse. Check out this awful 1960's Popeye cartoon.

Man, that's so horrible. Especially when you compared it against the scrolling background episodes that the Fleischers did, and those from the 1930's!

The animation in the Star Trek animated series was only slightly better than that Popeye cartoon:

There's almost no movement!

One of the biggest problems with H-B cartoon from the late 50's to the late 70's though was how bad some of the writing was. Just laughably bad, especially on the lower-budget shows. And a lot of really awful attempts at humor. On the other hand, like MST3K, it's fun to see just how those shows back then were.

Isn't the last novel, Breaking Down, widely believed to not just be the worst of all the Twilight novels but one of the worst mainstream novels of all-time?

It's that bad? :lol

Quote
Breaking Dawn is split into three separate "books", or parts. The first part details Bella's marriage and honeymoon with Edward, which they spend on a private island off the coast of Brazil. Days into their honeymoon, Bella realizes that she is pregnant and that her condition is progressing at an unnaturally accelerated rate. After contacting Carlisle, who confirms her pregnancy, she and Edward immediately return home to Forks, Washington. Edward, concerned for Bella's well-being and convinced that the fetus is a monster as it continues to develop with unnatural rapidity, urges her to have an abortion. However, Bella wants to keep the child and so she contacts Rosalie for support, knowing that Rosalie has always wanted children.

The second part of the novel is written from Jacob's point-of-view, and lasts throughout Bella's pregnancy and childbirth. The Quileute werewolf pack, not knowing what danger the unborn child may pose, make plans to destroy it, even though they must kill Bella to do so. Jacob vehemently protests this decision and leaves, forming his own pack with Leah and Seth Clearwater. Bella soon gives birth, but the baby breaks many of her bones and she loses massive amounts of blood. In order to save her life, Edward changes her into a vampire. Jacob, who was present for the birth, almost immediately "imprints"—an involuntary response in which a werewolf finds his soul mate—on Edward and Bella's newborn daughter, Renesmee.

The third section of Breaking Dawn shifts back to Bella's perspective, finding her changed into a vampire and enjoying her new life and abilities. However, the vampire Irina misidentifies Renesmee as an "immortal child", a child who has been turned into a vampire. Because "immortal children" are uncontrollable, creating them has been outlawed by the Volturi. After Irina presents her allegation to the Volturi, they plan to destroy Renesmee and the Cullens. In an attempt to save her, the Cullens gather vampires from around the world to stand as witnesses and prove to the Volturi that Renesmee is not an immortal child. Upon confronting the gathered Cullen allies and witnesses, the Volturi discover that they have been misinformed and immediately execute Irina for her mistake. However, they remain undecided on whether Renesmee should be viewed as a threat to vampires' secret existence. At that time, Alice and Jasper, who had left prior to the confrontation, return with Nahuel, a 150-year-old vampire-human crossbreed like Renesmee. He demonstrates that the crossbreeds pose no threat, and the Volturi leave. Bella, Edward and Renesmee return to their home in peace.

What do you think?
