It's obvious that sexuality is a big problem in our society and both sides are at fault.  They're way too extreme.  One side wants to keep our children so sheltered from sex that they are totally ignorant of anything to do with it while the other side wants us to be as flamboyant as can be with our sexuality which makes children think it's okay to be sexual at such a young age.  Both sides need to stop fighting and find a middle ground for the sake of our society.  This is why sex is such a taboo issue in America.

Oh come on, that's some mighty spin there. Mupepe is right on the money about the two sides. The most vocal side does indeed promote rampant sex with little to no consequences shown - and then tries to turn around and advocate safer sex. MTV might spend 10 minutes getting some artist to tell viewers to wrap it up, but they'll spend the rest of the day promoting as much sex and ignorance as possible.

That part of the media (which is indeed liberal) certainly isn't doing any good in the discussion. But just as they're one extreme, the other side is perhaps just as extreme but not nearly as vocal (at least not successfully). I've got no problem with abstinence and it has many great things going for it both in terms of mental and physical attributes, but teaching abstinence simply doesn't work. You've got to make it clear that if you're going to have sex, use a condom. Not having sex at a young age (for the most part we're talking about 12-16 year olds here) is definitely the better choice, but condoms have to be the safety guard if all the pep talks get thrown out the window for pure sex passion.
