It's actually pretty fun, though I don't know how serious you are about your arcade-style racers. Motorcycle racer, at that. You do stunts to gain boost, and then boost to pull off better stunts. Tracks have the standard Midtown Madness/Midway Rush style shortcuts which can be beneficial unless you biff it, then you're hurting. Rubberband AI like a motherfucker, so don't think you can slip up on higher level tracks.
There's also an open-world exploration mode where you go around in a collect-a-thon, which I am not fond of because the non-race feel of the controls is slippery.
I have played 12 hours of it, and am always happy to go back to it. It's relaxing, for a race game.
