yep, just had all those bosses. beating them with their weaknesses felt good. I started the manta stage next but I don't like how it's a non stop bike race. I do not welcome shit like that in my mega man game

how is it any different from the wave man stage in MM5? It's an evolved version of that.

I'm buying this for either Wii or PS3... It just feels right playing on Wii, and I really like the classic controller, but the whole storage space issue sucks. Oh well, I can always delete Lost Winds (boring and overrated game, why oh why didn't I buy FFCC instead? Stupid GAF hype) 360 would be cool, w/achievements but you couldn't pay me to use that horrible dpad.

If I could find that Hori 360 pad I would order it right away.  Right now I'm thinking about MM9 on PS3 since I think I will be able to use my Saturn controller.

FUCK Sigma in X4! He's IMPOSSIBLE with X! It's hilarious. The entire game is easy as balls with X, but the final boss is fucking HARD. With Zero, the entire game is mostly challenging due to the lack of a projectile weapon, and the final boss with him is fucking EASY.

Well in Wave Man's stage it was still just a segment, you had other things to do besides that. It was more fun in X1, where it was pretty much optional, but fun if you wanted to cross the level quickly. In X4 it's like trial & error, the gaps are visible way too late

As it stands X2 is still way better than X4, but maybe the game will grow on me

Well, color me unimpressed.  That trailer just showed rehashed Mega Man game play from the previous games.  Seemed ultra-uninspired and that music was "meh."  Mega Man is still dead.   :'(
you saw the screens. you read about it. you read all the bitching and all the loving. you know capcom is laser-targeting a very specific group of people. so what, pray tell, did you actually, truly expect once you clicked that play button?

Something good?

Something like Mega Man 1-3, particularly closer to MM2, not something that gave off MM4-6 vibes.   :-\

in x4 the section takes practice and remembering every single jump.

kinda like the disappearing platforms in MM1-6.

I have to go replay MMZ2 and Legends now.  I am not going crazy and replaying every Mega Man game, just my past favorites or random ones.  I already did MM2 and MM3, which are my two favorite NES ones.  Although I think MM3 might have better gameplay, I think the bosses, music, and power ups in MM2 make it my favorite.  Although MM3 probably has one of my favorite tunes in any game when Protoman shows up.  The slide is also great.  I honestly don't understand the hate for the slide.  I do understand the hate for the charge shot, but not for the slide.  I also replayed MMX4, which again reaffirms my old memories that it is amazing.

indeed. I can play MMX and MMZ just perfect with analog sticks, but not so much with classic MM. I need a d-pad. Are there any game controller accessories you can use so you can play a ps2 controller on a 360? Or better yet, a saturn controller?

i have the hori pad, picked that thing up back in the day for SC 2 and never used it again. Now it'll come in handy again.

Finished X4, overall I'd rank it below the first two SNES games

Maybe I will play Legends now!

If Microsoft wasn't a bastard they could have simple USB controllers work on the 360 like they do on the PS3.  That way I could use my saturn controller, PS2 controller, Dreamcast controller (for Rez) or original Xbox S controller (better than the 360 one).  If only.

And Legends 2 isn't as good a the first game, but it is still great.  BTW, how are you guys playing the PS1 games? I'm emulating them on my PC so I can upscale them.

And I forgot about the Mega Man Xtreme games for GBC.  I have those in my closet.  I have to go replay them since I do remember enjoying them.

Overall I thought it was a hit or miss game. Some stages I really enjoyed (magma, jungle, ice, owl stage), but others were tedious and devoid of any creativity (train level). Playing with Zero got more fun as the game went on though.

I'm emulating the ps games on epsxe, but it's so hard to get the graphics to look ok. I have downloaded a graphics plugin for it, but there's so many setting I don't know what I should turn on or off.

Legends 1 and 2 both came out on PSP in Japan, but neither of those came to the states.  No reason to since there is a PSN store now.

And the train level was awesome!  The intro the boss fight where he runs up and jumps on was great.

i was gonna ask you how you could rank Legends 1 over Legends 2, but now i see it's because you don't have it.  you need to get this game.  seriously the jump in quality is comparable to MM1->MM2.  the levels are bigger and much more diverse than the same-y ruins in 1, the weapon selection is huge and much more useful, and the cutscenes are some of the best on PSX.  my only real complaint is that the last boss is sooo fucking cheap if you have the highest ranking.  But this game is amazing and you really need to play it while you're still riding this MM boner.

1 is great, but it just feels so basic compared to 2's EPICNESS.  one town, dungeons that look the same, simple plot.  2 is just so much bigger.  it's a shame it didn't catch on because is really is one of the best action games on the PSX.

it's pretty obvious capcom is focusing on their biggest game, RE5.

I don't care.  Both still look awesome and they are allowing them to make a game based around a grapple.  As I was saying:   :bow Capcom :bow2

RE5 also looks stellar.

I thought that was a rumor.  That I would be pissed about.  Dead Rising was awesome because of all the broken Japanese gaming ideologies.  I mean, the save system had people crying over it while I loved how they had consequence and having to pick what is the most important thing to do at that moment.  Dead Rising was so awesome.  Easily the best exclusive 360 game.
