Yeah, I don't care about achievements, trophies, or whatever.  I downloaded the SSDHD update, but I am not going to go through it to get trophies.  PixelJunk Eden is when I will get my first trophy since that will be the next new game.  That is unless more games are retroactive.

I had the same thing happen to me so i waited till the hdd light stopped flashing at the "ok" screen, then hit OK and it worked.

Boot the game, walk away for a minute, get a drink, then come back, that should be enough time.  I think it has trouble starting the update while the game is still loading in the background.

what is the deal with the clocks? mine was 13 minutes out.

If I was a betting man, I'd put my money on that it was pulled due to incomplete functionality and integration. Sony doesn't seem to be so awesome at testing shit before shit goes live, hence all the ..1s. I seriously didn't feel like doing the update knowing the next one would be only days away.

Not sure about the clock. Mine is server synchronized, so it was alright.

You make it seem like it is exclusive to sony fans.  You know Nintendo fans would be sucking on Miyamoto's balls for inventing 720p if WiiHD ever came out.  And I remember some people who hated the DMC series was all over it once it became multiplatform.  The moral of this story is that fanboys of all shapes and sizes suck.  Except PC fanmen, but a true PC fan is rare.

Some of you must be dizzy from all the spinning in this thread today.    But I'm happy for you that Kotaku had a "breaking news" story to report today.


It seems quite obvious Sony took down this update just to be ultra careful not to brick thousands of machines like some of Microsoft's previous updates have done.  Instead there seems to be a very small number of people affected by 2.4, and Sony got scared when places like Kotaku started banging down their door immediately.

I bet we'll see 2.4 back up tomorrow.  Check out the GAF thread dedicated to this topic.  Last I checked there wasn't a single post about someone having a bricked PS3 from this update.  Yet we still see articles from 1up reporting "major problems".    Could they be any more obvious with their manufactured drama?
