Watched a couple of eps (they're like 3 mins each or something) of Chi's Sweet Home, which is sickeningly ... is there a word for cute + vomit? awwmit or something? Apparently I need something like this right now, it's lulling my brain into quiescence and I adore it.

Heh, I've watched some of those too. They're good for when you just need to kill three minutes.

It's really creepy knowing that Kou and Keith are skirmishing in the ruins of Sydney after a colony was dropped on it.

Operation British:

Quote
The One Week War culminated in Operation British, supposedly named after the American Revolution against British rule in the 1770s. Operation British's goal was to destroy the Federation's central military command at Jaburo in South America, a facility hardened against nuclear assault. The plan called for the use of a recently depopulated colony cylinder. During the opening battles of the One Week War, Zeon troops launched a gas attack on Island Iffish, a colony in the Hatte province of Side 2, employing a highly-toxic nerve gas known as GG, which was able to enter even into the gas shelters via the colony's ventilation system. (An upgraded version of this nerve gas, G3, was used in 0085 by the Titans to put down a rebellion in the 30 Bunch colony cluster of Side 1). The cleansing of the colony's entire population was accomplished within 20 minutes. After the gas attack had concluded, Zeon forces then prepared the colony by attaching it with nuclear propulsion engines, before initiating the second phase of Operation British.

The Federation's space forces mobilized as the Principality set the colony on a slingshot course around the moon. Intense battle raged above the Earth's orbits, but the Federation Forces was unable to stop the colony. As the colony passed the point-of-no-return, both sides withdrew from battle and emergency evacuation of Jaburo was ordered. However, the heavily damaged colony fell short of its intended target, instead shattering into large fragments due to the heat of re-entry over the Indian Ocean. The largest piece, comprising most of the main colony cylinder itself after being shot at while over the Arabian peninsula, fell on the heavily-populated city of Sydney, Australia, obliterating the city outright with its 10-million population. The strike caused a 60,000-megaton blast (or estimated to be 3 million times the power of the Hiroshima bomb) and created a 500-kilometer crater along Australia's coastline (later named the Sydney Crater). The immediate effect was of a Magnitude 9.5 earthquake at the impact point and Magnitude 9 earthquake over a third of Australia, a 200m/s shockwave being detected in Melbourne; it destroyed roughly 16% of the continent. The ensuing shockwave also led to massive tsunamis around the globe, incapacitating a large portion of Earth Federation's planetary defence systems, while also causing huge humanitarian crises.

Macross F is all stupid love triangles and shit...it is getting really stale.

The distinguished mentally-challenged love triangle is what MAKES the series!  :lol We've got not one, but two pop idols dueling for the affections of this douche that barely even acknowledges either one of them and when he does he's kind of a jerk to them, and is also probably gay anyway. Priceless!

And speaking of douches that are probably gay, poor Michel.  :'(

spoiler (click to show/hide)
And while Michel was busy dying, we get to see a brief shot of Klan's nips and muff but the fact that she had the body of 12 year old just a few minutes earlier and was also partially nude then is just wild pedo. WTF, show?  :-\

El Hazard: The Wanderers
Forgot how good this show was. It doesn't beat the original Magnificent World OVA, but the retelling is definitely entertaining in its own way. Its got a quirky charm thats pretty unique. Still, Mokoto's science skills in this telling are pretty absurd, but its El Hazard.

Slayers Revolution
Episode 6 was the first filler ep, and it was glorious. Waiting on the eclipse sub for the sake of consistency.

Gurren Lagaan
Need to finished volume 2 before the final volume is out beginning of September.

LEEEEEEEECH
Bubblegum Crisis 2040
Just got the DVD set in the mail, going to run through this series again. Sure the ending is kinda blah, but Sylia (p-s-y-c-h-oooo) is awesome and the suit designs are great. Purists will poo poo, but what do they know ha ha ha.

Gundam 0083 is rocking my ass.  The influence of the future BONES and Bebop staff really shows. Ep 6 felt like an episode of Bebop.  The whole show is absolutely gorgeous, and the pacing is perfect.  The action scenes all look great, too. The mecha have a nice sense of weight and movement that I haven't really seen in other Gundams. This might be my favorite Gundam series yet, and it's certainly the best-looking I've seen.

They made Anamone and Dominic lame in one of the last episodes of Eureka 7; and RahXephon was pretty weak.

I am enjoying it, but I feel like I am liking it more because it looks so damn good in HD.

Oh, and Darker Than Black had a weak ending, and that bonus episode they had sucked.

E7 and FMA were great, but Rahx was BORING. People were all ooh ahh better than eva and it ended up ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, but Scrapped Princess was awesome and Darker than Black is ok, Xam'd is good so far. Wolfs Rain was also SNORE.

they have produced some good stuff, but their library isnt invincible

Sword of the Stranger is amazing.  If you haven't seen that yet, then find a way to watch it.

I am still waiting on the Blu-ray release of it so I can watch it again in HD.

And yeah, people saying RahXephon is better than Eva were bullshitting.  I'm not Eva zealot or anything, but it was a lot better than RahXephon.

Finally saw an episode of Slayers Revolution(s?). The animation itself is very nice, but the art style is off just a tad from the previous series. It looks a bit more like Real Bout High School. But holy shit they kept the same soundtrack and pretty much everything else omg. That was one thing I was really worried about. Slayers has awesome music. :rock

Macross F is really terrible at times.  I can't believe I just watched a little girl telling some elf guy to snap out of if while he was weeping for some dead nobody character.

ok, that awful scene was just topped by 100 fold.

I can't believe it has stopped itself yet again.  This shit keeps going down hill.

Just finished Gurrenn Laggann and, boy, I was thoroughly impressed.  It actually lived up to the hype I've been hearing about for more than a year.  Glad I waited for the DVDs, though, as it was nice just to marathon the series, instead of waiting one week for a new episode.

Goddamn, there's hardly any anime that interests me nowadays. Cartoon Network had some damn good selections a few years ago with the likes of Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho, Outlaw Star, Lupin III, and a bunch of others, but most of the stuff they (or any other network for that matter) have right now is shit. Right now the only things I can stomach watching are One Piece and Slayers Revolution. Gurren Lagaan's pretty interesting, tho. Should I keep watching that?

That's the only anime that I actually spent time converting so that i can watch it through my 360 on my hdtv. So sexy. It doesn't look as good when I'm streaming from my PC.
