You watch anime and you don't use this site, FM? For shame.

Btw, the end of the Soul Eater anime was extremely gay. I might start reading the manga to see how the story continues.

I just started watching it. The new intro is pretty cool, it just starts off a bit slow.

Really cool so far.  I like the blander colours in the art and the story started off with a bang.

I wonder if they will stick to keeping it comedic instead of getting too serious in this series.  It's based on the manga, right? I never got around to reading it but I heard it always had the balance.

GGS has their sub out as well.

Will someone make a new thread or will all FMA discussion stay in here?

Dunno if i should go with Shinsen or GSS, i liked GSS Gundam 00 S2 translation but i am not sure here and GSS loves to troll (replacing shit op next week? lol).

and you can make a thread if you like.

btw, anyone know how many episodes this one will last? if it's 30 or so i might start watching it weekly.

If it's going to cover the whole manga. (the manga is going to be finished before the anime does), then it will probably be more then 51 episodes.

No, it's set for 51 eps in the slot.  It'll probably speed through the first half of the manga that was already covered in the last show though.  I mean Greed is in the first OP.

Mazinger Z was really confusing, is it going air out-of-order ala haruhi, or did bandai force the studio to show episode 25 as episode 1 because a certain robot appears in that episode for model sales. :lol kinda like they did with victory gundam. (showing episode 4 as episode 1).

And ^ yeah it looks like that, still not so sure how there going cover 100 42-page chapters of manga in 51 episodes, but we are going to haft to wait and see.

I'm watching Baccano now because people said it was one of those great shows no one watched in the last couple of years and because it's short.

I'm 4 eps in now and I still have no idea what it's about ^^;  But it does have me hooked, so hopefully it will pay off.

Plot Summary: The story of a young woman fighting for her survival in a real "urban jungle." Only 18 years old, Kuniko Hojo finds herself at the heart of the battle for humanity's future when she discovers that the government which rules Atlas intends to continue marginalising the less-privileged masses outside the tower - by force, if necessary.

that trailer for Shangri-la got me interested whereas before I was probably never going to watch it because it focused on young girls as every role.  Maybe it might not just be shallow pedo bait.

Valkyria Chronicles kinda sucked.  I'm amazed by how budget the show is.

that show that begins with Phantom or something was pretty boring too.

K-ON had a brief mention of Detroit Metal City, but it didn't stop it from from being trash.

Dragon Ball Kai and FMA are awesome

I watched the first episodes and it looks promising. But it was also a total information dump with lots of characters, factions, and concepts being tossed out in rapid succession with very little time spent properly introducing any of them. Still, once the show gets going, it could be pretty good.

Let's see, we've got:
-Metal-age [one or two main characters and a load of supporting characters]
-Carbon Police [mentioned but not seen]
-Atlas [a few main characters and a few supporting characters]
-Some shrine priest people [a main character or two]
-A totally evil shadow-lurking woman and her boy toys [a main characters a couple of supporting characters]
-A computer wiz girl and her talking winged-lizard thing [a main character and a ??]

All in episode one. :-\

True, true. Full Metal Panic, Last Exile, Hellsing, Gankutsuou, and Welcome to the NHK are all top-notch works. Unfortunately, a lot of their others shows are mediocre at best.

By the way, I just came across this seasons balls-out awesome anime that no one's watching: Basquash. It's from Thomas Romain, the creator of Oban: Star-Racers, a solid and underappreciated Fraco-Japanese production. This time around, he's teamed up with Shoji Kawamori to create Basquash! a series about an alternate Earth where mechas compete in basketball tournaments. It sounds weird on paper, but the end result looks great so far [and I only just watched the first half of episode 1].

The animation is slick and vibrant, the character designs are pretty good, and the world is some weird fusion of futuristic and dilapidated steam punk [or something]. The story follows this kid who hates robots, apparently from some tragic incident that happened in the past, and so he and his friends rip through town and bust up all the public TVs that are showing the mecha basketball tournaments. Presumably at some point the main character will have to enter the mecha tournament to something something friendship or whatever. If they can keep up this level of awesome through the rest of the series, it'll end up being really good.

No.  Gonzo is just bad.  Your excuses do not save them.

The last decent show they made was Count of Monte Cristo and how many years ago was that?  C'mon, let them die already.  They already outsource 99% of their animation to Korea.

Yeah gonzo are just bad bad bad, even their good shows like FMP hellsing and last exile were pretty weak overall and could've been so much more. Count of monte cristo is the only one kick-ass show they ever made.

I will watch the "remastered" Dragonball Z show coming out.  It's supposed to be cutting the length of the episodes down to make things go faster, voice actors are re-doing their lines, and they are making it 16:9.  This is from the original studio, not Funimation BTW.  I assume it will be fansubbed pretty quickly.

And for the perv in me, I will check out Queen's Blade.

Are you downloading Queen's Blade? Didn't it just launch?
