widows wanted to have something profound to say and maybe it could've had it been a limited mini series. despite that, it was a decent heist flick with an awesome cast.

Such a werid actor. Plenty of odd role choices like The Wolfman and then an amazing performance like Siccaro. The dude is a really good actor.

cold war is painful, bittersweet and lovely. it is equally as epic and beautiful as roma. i've had similar idea for a film running through my head for a better half of a decade so it deeply resonated with me.

Roma is easily my favorite movie of the year. Had absolutely no complaints. It’s looks beautiful, it sounds beautiful, and it tells a beautiful story. Wish I could wipe my brain and watch it for the first time again.

Finally saw isle of dogs. Was awesome.

Isle of Dogs was so forgettable. I saw it in theaters when it came out and I honestly couldn’t tell you the plot.

Spider-Verse was amazing, amazing, awesome. Felt like a comic book brought to life and going in blind I didn't even know

This was the start of a new movie franchise for ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN :o
But with origin story as a cool multi-verse tale :o :o

Normally only art films are crazy visually artsy, but this has the most creative and best visual/art direction & style I've seen in a movie in ages. Half of why this movie is good is the visual style, but there's still a good movie underneath it. Still the visual director gets as much credit as the film director in this one.

Definitely better than Infinity War Pt.1, a bit better than Black Panther though less important than that. My only minor gripe watching it was:

spoiler (click to show/hide)
A little bummed they went with anime girl for the futuristic spiderman spot over 2099 since I love 2099 as trashy as it is, but it makes sense since from a visual design it gave them another unique visual style character.

PLUS 2099 IS STILL IN IT ...for a minute! AND IN THE NEXT ONE :o :o :o

So good.

Man, I took a look at the Box Office and wtf, Spider-Verse is gonna end up doing like 1/5th of what your average Superhero flick does worldwide. This makes no sense to me. There's obviously a huge mainstream audience that goes to see superhero flicks consistently all around the world and an awesome spider-man movie comes out but because it's CG...no one goes to see it?????????

I'm actually pretty annoyed by this. Movie deserves to be successful so the sequel can have $$$ budget to look just as amazing as this one.

It's going to have a better 2nd week. Probably some dumbasses in Marketing didn't want to get bogged down with a non-Disney, non-Pixar animated film, so they flew it out under the radar. Or, wait, this is Sony instead of Marvel Studios, isn't it? They're great at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. They're the Sega of film studios.

House That Jack Built was a major meh. Don't think what I saw was the director's cut, but even so, it was so tame, the only horrifying thing was imagining pearl clutching  seniors leave the theater in Canne's.

Bird Box is utter trash. Fucking corny as shit and I can't get past Sandra Bullock looking like a late-stage Michael Jackson.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one that sees this.  She looks terrible.

The whole walking out was a bit over the top, it wasn't that shocking, but at the same time I wouldn't say it is incredibly tame either. It has its moments. And those moments are probably longer in the uncut version. :p

The Crimes of Grindelwald was utter shite. The film is just all over the place.

there was a short message from lars before the director's cut screening urging the audience to remained seated through the entire duration of the film and he had the worst shakes i have ever seen. if anything, i believe he's channeling his inner demons more so now without an easy escape

I was kind of looking forward to Hellboy, because i thought the DelToro ones were mostly shit, but this new reboot looks even cheaper.
However, Marshall is good at making fun movies on the cheap, so i still got hope it'll be entertaining.

The new MIB looks dull as shit instead, not even one funny joke in the trailer? And it's not very clear what the new gimmick would be.
"International"? Meaning this will try to be more like F&F, Mission Impossible and NuBond? I think we have enough of those already, besides what is international about it? MIB was on a galactic scale already.

Sweet baby Jesus. The 4k transfer of 2001 is fucking beautiful. The HDR is incredible. And the remastered audio is the icing on the cake. It’s been a few years since I last saw the movie but it’s always one that makes me feel stoned even sober, especially the opening.

Bumblebee

Really liked Travis Knight's Kubo and the Two Strings, so gave Bumblebee a shot (94% RT!). It's watchable, but felt like the bar was just "let's not make a terrible movie like Bay" which it succeeded at but didn't really do much beyond that. Reminded me of one of those straight to video Disney live action flicks of the 90s, but not in the good self-aware way. I'm kinda surprised the FAMILY and heartfelt themes in this feel pretty lazy when those hit the mark in Kubo. Might just be the difference in writers.

Last TF movie I saw was TF1 and it was godawful. Never watched the sequels. I watched the cartoons as a kid but unlike Batman the animated series or something I don't remember the cartoons at all and have zero love/nostalgia for the franchise. So if you like transformers you'll probably enjoy it a lot more! For me it was just sorta re-confirmation that TF is not for me (which is ironic since I fucking love robots!). But it wasn't bad, just totally safe and forgettable.

Also the acting in this felt pretty bad to me?

But unlike TF1 I could actually follow the action scenes so I enjoyed those.
