Well, there's no reason to watch the movie now, we've already seen all the jokes.

Also, the fact that this was actually shot back during the middle of 2010 and then shelved until January 2013 is not a good sign.

The Bourne Legacy  pretty bad, an equal mix of eye roll worthy Federal Agency porn and high octane action sequences with an unfulfilling ending that is abrupt and comes out of nowhere.  in the previous movies Bourne was running around with a purpose in the back of his mind of sticking it to the people behind the program, in this one the new guy is running around just to run. that's it.  the ending is like a Brosnan Bond movie where we're led to assume that he is left to tenderly fuck the chick he's been through the whole ordeal with as the sun sets, but without the implied sex. terrible. waste of time. avoid.

edit: and while Jason was likable (a major reason the movies worked) this new guy is not

Except people think he won't be playing Khan, but this guy instead:

http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Gary_Mitchell

And WTF at that Star Trek poster.  Why does everything need to be DARK AND SERIOUS these days. :(

It's the new trend. Remember the early '00s when every sad pathetic manchild wanted everything to be darker and more serious while calling anything not so kiddy and too corny? Well they got what they wanted with Batman Begins and Casino Royale, and the success of those two reboots gave hollywood another money boner so that's what they cater to now. And now every sad nerdlinger is screaming for steampunk, which I doubt will ever happen.

See also: Iron Man 3.

I blame 9/11.

This is totally a case of the Little Tortilla Boy.  The same voiceover can be used for any contempory movie preview of its time.

They're intentionally being coy about the villain's identity.  But the Japanese trailer runs longer and has strong hints towards who he is.

I think the running hypotheses are

Gary Mitchell or another telling of Khan because of alternate universe business.

I'm just not a fan of JJ Abrams, and while I enjoyed Cloverfield(Sort of a disappointment though) and loved Super 8, those fit certain niches that I'm a fan of and I thought they were good in spite of his involvement.

Also that trailer is the most I've ever seen of Star Trek, I might have to rectify that.

JJ Abrams makes pretty decent stuff across the board.  You should give the reboot Star Trek a shot.  While I'm not a huge Trek fan, I've enjoyed most of TNG, Enterprise, the reboot, Generations, and few other projects they've done.

Nah, I want the classic continuity to be put in film/tv

They could easily have called this SpaceBattleShip Abrams and still did as well as they are. The existence of this line makes it less and less likely that I will get classic continuity stuff, at least delaying anything potentially for a long time.

The only bad thing about the original continuity is that (1) TOS did not age well at all, and younger audiences have a hard time connecting with it, (2) TNG was really great, but I think they've squeezed everything out of it that they could, (3) DSN and Voyager didn't do very well and are often less remembered, (4) Enterprise was fun, but was kindof gimmicky, and hardcore fans don't accept it into the lore.

All that being said, they didn't have much room to build on anything in the original continuity and make any actual money off of it.

There are tons of new things Voyager only touched on that can be put into film/series.

Just NONE of the Voyager writers nor actors may return. They should send out a new ship to explore/map the Delta quadrant further.

I would say that if they do a new series, it would be based off of the new continuity, however that doesn't mean that it would be bad.  The timeline could still be set an X number of years after the events of the reboot storyline and most of the outcomes would be close to the same as they would in the original universe.
