If you're a grownup who is worrying about the Ninja Turtles is going to be?  It's going to suck.  Like Transformers did, because Transformers sucks.  Michael Bay can't ruin what is already terrible.

Sightseers - FUCKING. AMAZING.  Hilariously dry comedy about uh sociopaths on vacation.  So goddamn funny and far more gory than I had anticipated.

The We and the I - New Michel Gondry about teenagers in the south bronx on the last day of school.  Quite funny and charming.
I just realised that I've been quoting Molotof too much, so I need a palate cleanser. You will suffice Eric Parnathian.

I still haven't seen Sightseers, but he's working on a new film with the guy who starred in that godawful Nathan Barley abortion. 'Geek Pie' was the only good bit.

I like watching Lynch talk.

I also like watching Donald Trump's daughter talk; it's as though her elocution lessons were applied with an industrial stapler.

I don't care about the new TMNT film or what Bay is doing; as I said earlier, I know what TMNT is and isn't so I can't be upset with whatever turd Bay creates. Same with Transformers and GI Joe. They can't be ruined because they already exist in my heart/mind.

That's GI Joe in my mind, couldn't care less that they made a crappy movie a few years ago.

Ninja Turtles have always been kind of shit.  Sorry nostalgia-fegs.

2003 Turtles series was quality, imo.

And there's still a nostalgic place in my heart for the first two films.

I still quote TMNT II all the time IRL, and (obviously), nobody ever gets the references.  :'(

I borrowed TMNT2 on VHS from a friend and didn't return it for over a decade.  I don't want to know how many times my little brother and I watched that.  This is still burned into our minds because we never fast-forwarded through the trailer at the beginning of the tape:

Plus between that and Surf Ninjas, I wound up under the impression that Ernie Reyes, Jr. was a major star.

Yeee-ah, about the same for me.  When I was around 12 or so, my mother ran a babysitting service.  One of those summers, I, my brothers, and about four other kids watched it probably every week.  That shit gets in your head.

Almost every time a group orders pizza, I instinctively break out "Ninja pizza.  Pizza that vanish quickly without trace."

Or any time someone offers me "napkins?", I spit out "what for?"

Possible Iron Man 3 post credits scene to set up Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers 2:

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Apparently the SOS is received at the end of the movie, and is from one Star-Lord (mask and all), so Tony takes off to find him (noting that, with the space armor, he’s “ready this time”). Jarvis asks Tony where he’s going and Tony simply replies, “I’ll be back.” This heavily implies to me that GOTG is probably going to take place before IM3, and will end with Starlord sending out the SOS (presumably Thanos is the source of distress and Starlord is warning them that he’s heading towards Earth) and that Avengers 2 is going to begin (or at some point involve) Tony bringing back the Guardians to help with Thanos.

movies i watched today. worst to best

Killing Them Softly
the usage of the election as a framework doesnt work. the story is decently well told but does a bad job at making me care. Pitt is the reason to watch

The Master
amazing directing. really beautiful flick. Phoenix and Hoffman knock it outta the park. doesn't really maintain it's foothold since it meanders a bit in the middle. hard to understand the point of the movie IMO.

Flight
that crash sequence in the beginning is incredible. Denzel is great. really good character piece. the build up to the characters redemption is frustrating, in a good way.

Probably true, but there are exceptions.  Speed Racer vastly exceeded the cartoon, and I'd rather watch The Damned United than lower division English soccer.

That's a potentially interesting but most likely train wreck of a rumor.  Continuing after Dark Knight Rises would devalue the stronger ideas of that movie.  This is unless the team of writers find a creative and original way to make everything work...Or ignore it and have a short scene to 'fix things' and make it the most marketable movie possible without worry of logic or consistency.  Or a separate continuity; the X-men movies split into separate X-men and Wolverine series.

We'll see how Man of Steel turns out and for as much as I liked Dark Knight Rises, if they're going forward with this thing, the people involved need to lighten up.  Multiply all the introspective staring scenes by members of the league and there's not much room left for action.  But not so much to be cavalier and vapid like The Avengers, not that it didn't work there.

I'm okay with Nolan not liking the form.  That's why I look forward to his flicks, at least I'll know he tries something new with it.

Avengers was very fun but after it I have no desire to continue to be invested in any of the future movies.  Nor do I even feel the need to watch Avengers again.

nah I don't think it sucked.  It's flawed, baffling, and infuriating at times, but its still a good-great Batman flick.

Well-shot, amazing sound design, and a great first half makes me almost forget about the acting, nonsense plot devices and ultimately throw-away villain in the second half.
