I actually really liked Death Proof because of how different it felt compared to everything else in his filmography.  Very dialogue driven.  Raw, simple violence.  Great music!  I don't understand the hate for that movie.

Reservoir Dogs is my favorite Tarantino movie.

Second would be True Romance. He didn't direct it, but the screenplay he wrote is Tarantino as fuck.

You're in for a treat with Jackie Brown. Wouldn't mind seeing QT adapt more Elmore Leonard works.

BIG GAME - I'm assuming this is a Finnish film; stars Samuel L. Jackson as the President, who is protected from terrorists by a 13 year old hunter in the mountains. It's basically Home Alone, but the kid protects the President rather than his parents' home.

Still haven't seen this one. I need to do that

It's got a cast of attractive women, some of his best dialog, one of his best soundtracks, Kurt Russel's most fun performance since Jack Burton, and it ends in an excellent old-school car chase. It's definitely worth it.

upon Death Proof. I've still got no clue whatsoever how they didn't kill Zoe Bell in that car chase.

Mustang is fantastic. Its gonna be on my 2015-best-of list for dang sure. Essentially a prison movie, but the prison would be the rigid patriarchal culture that the quintet of teenage Turkish sisters are forced to live through. Its funny, thrilling, and enormously affecting without ever feeling at all manipulative. Its pretty great.

I liked Sicario for its bluntness on the matter and just general realism. The effect of that realism was possibly that Emily Blunt came off a bit weaker then I was expecting. Now I get that that was probably the point of her characters, the hopelessness of the situation personafied, but I did think she was far too naive for a movie so realistic in its characters.

No duh Guardians of the Galaxy will be in Infinity War, the first movie was the reason Brolin was cast as Thanos.

I just want to know if Daredevil and Agents of SHIELD are going to be integrated. Otherwise, this claim of "the whole Marvel universe will unite" is completely untrue. :maf

The world needs Spider-man and Daredevil on-screen together.

Fuck I loved the bleak, pessimistic tone of Sicario. So good. Denis Villeneuve is easily one of the most exciting directors going right now. He just keeps getting better and better.

Bone Tomahawk.

Neat little genre Western that plays like 30% The Searchers, 70% The Descent. Fantastic ensemble cast. Kurt Russell, Richard Jenkins, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox(!). Incredibly gruesome. Sad that they weren't able to get it a decent theatrical release but I'm sure it'll pick up a decent cult following. It's streaming on Amazon Prime as of a few days ago.

Matthew Fox was surprisingly good. I liked him in Lost, but mostly in a "haha, what a goober" kind of way. He really brought it in Bone Tomahawk.

I really liked the cinematography and performances, especially Tom Hardy's. Other than that it was pretty repetitive and uninteresting. Surprisingly dull film for the guy who made Birdman.

That's when they're doing that Kevin Smith hosted announcement of a whole bunch of the DC Film Universe stuff on The CW.

The bunker part of the movie will probably be, like, the first third or something.

I mean it was made in total secrecy, which for anyone who knows the Hollywood chain knows is pretty much impossible. The budget was likely very small and yeah, probably very few locations and a super quick turnaround from prod to post-prod.

I remember a large group of friends carpooling to go see it in college because we were all nerds and excited about a new monster movie. I had to study or some shit but I vividly remember them all coming back deflated, confused and upset but all agreeing it was garbage.

I saw it well after the hype settled, when it came out on dvd. The problem with most found footage films is that if the hook doesn't work the entire film fails/is a waste of time. You don't leave those films saying "well it wasn't good but the acting was impressive and I'm gonna google the soundtrack." Nah it's all or nothing.

Blair Witch works in part because it doesn't wait 20-30 minutes before trying to hook you. It's sets the tone early, you get some weird info on the subject, you get the traditional "one people giving eerie exposition" scenes, etc. Cloverfield gives you some wack attempts at introducing love triangles and shit. Then shit hits the fan and it's not scary or entertaining.
