The Witch, yikes, that's a movie. Creates a dread filled atmosphere so thick you could cut with a knife. Loved the period appropriate dialog too, and the way the characters deal with their stifling religious faith. Man, I really liked it, but I can understand fully the mixed audience reaction it received from my theater (except for that guy who kept laughing, he's a dick).
Eye in the Sky is a intelligent, sometimes tense, and properly cynical film about modern drone warfare. Its also not exactly dramatically satisfying. Its not bad, but its the sort of well made, handsomely appointed prestige film that seems to garner too much Oscar attention every year. Sometimes its like a much smarter version of a 24 episode (with Captain Phillip star Barkhad Abdi as the risk taking agent, YES), that can't seem to split the difference between admonishing or entertaining its audience.
