It's called Source Code.

The movie you were thinking about.

With Jake Gyllenhaal.

On a train.

Torque has a scene on a train, literally.
I'm sure there's enough Murder on the Orient Express adaptations to a worst 5.

Come on people, Strangers on a Train was gay almost before gay existed. Sure, not much of it takes place on a train, but whatev. It’s one of Hitch’s best. And based on a Patricia Highsmith novel too for bonus points.

That movie was garbo, but how did they do the Kim Dickens invisible titty grab? I remember that scene puzzling me at the time, i figured it was done compressed air or a vacuum, but it was probably just cgi, now that i think about it.

Promare:journo aww man. It's stuff like this and Dragonball Z that made me think all anime was like this until like halfway through high school. You know, kinda like when you find out "wait, comic books =/= superheroes all the time every time?!"

Also, I knew I recognized that ost composer halfway through the movie Sawano. All the good and bad that came with him in Xenoblade X.

I find the movie kinda lacked consistency in its own rules. A bunch of deus ex machina, things explained on the spot to make up the rules. It was basically all power level mumbo jumbo. Really disliked the character design even if the artstyle was appealing at times. The movie has several gifable moments. Overall though, I pretty much tuned out halfway through. I take it if I didn't like this I probably won't enjoy Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann?

Sorry guys and gals, this is exactly the kind of anime that kept me out of the medium for the longest time.

Didn't enjoy the plot, didn't care for the characters, the combat goes all Neo God Mode after at least starting out more Matrix 1 before it goes all nuts power level "I AM A GOD animu" to the max.

1 out of 5.

Take the rating with a grain of salt if this type of anime is up your alley.

The Invisible Man was really good! They sacrificed some plot logic for the sake of a more satisfying parable and it was the right choice.

I know haha. That's my issue. I've seen all the Oscar noms that theaters keep showing off (and The Gentlemen). I can see some other flicks in a theater that's a bit further from me where they are playing Portrait of a Lady of Fire and The Assistant, but I kinda want to go to the closer theaters who only have The Invisible Man and the Will Farrell movie as possible options for me. I'll probably go watch the Invisible Man anyways.

Finally caught up with Uncut Gems.

What a gem of a movie. One crazy roller coaster ride from start to finish, I loved it.
That ending though  :o

Also went to see The Gentlemen. This is Guy Ritchie at his best.
Great characters and world building, a story that throws you curveballs and overall a lot of Guy Ritchie-ness.
Not sure if better than Snatch as some people say, because that is such a classic, but certainly a great film.

Imagine what we could’ve gotten.

“Thank you for letting me stay in your house! Btw, there’s an invisible man making me look crazy to everyone and it’s all really poignant because I’m a woman! Help!”
“Bitch, why does our room smell like shit?”

But really, I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. Elizabeth Moss was great casting for the role, too.

Watched Girl on the Third Floor now that it's on Netflix. I don't watch wrestling, but boy can this C.M. Punk guy not act  :lol, makes John Cena look like a distinguished actor. Add to that a few other actors delivering pretty bad dialogue and the writing definitely suffers.

BUT, if you can get passed that, the atmosphere of an oozing, pussing, bleeding haunted house makes for a solid entertaining ride. Overall I liked it but it wasn't great. Had potential to be better.

Also C.M. Punk in this movie looks A LOT like Evil Dead age Bruce Campbell. Very similar facial structure and expressions. I was googling around and other people made the same comment. If he can learn how to act, he'd be a great Young Ash in something Evil Dead.

Where's my Atari story that was going to feature Leo DiCaprio and then was gonna become a tv series instead (with Superbad fat guy I think?)!!! I would love to see that be adapted to the screen.

And what about Masters of Doom. Is that happening too already? Though that would have to be a tv series I would guess.

The Invisible Man (2020) - It was alright. I agree with Transhuman on the subject of plot holes. Some of them seemed like they could even be avoided. Alas, whatever. Not sure how I felt about the ending. Particularly the demeanor
spoiler (click to show/hide)
of the main protagonist. It just seems so different from her. Even if she was determined to kill him, her behavior walking out of the house and cocksure way of talking to the cop friend. Just seemed off.

But I liked the various twists and how the invisible man was able to really mess with the main protagonist's psyche. She does a great job playing the character.

of the main protagonist. It just seems so different from her. Even if she was determined to kill him, her behavior walking out of the house and cocksure way of talking to the cop friend. Just seemed off.

But I liked the various twists and how the invisible man was able to really mess with the main protagonist's psyche. She does a great job playing the character.

The worst part was when

-he was on the rampage in the hospital and she's screaming "he's right behind you" even though she's sitting right next to a gun and could have just killed him herself.

And they gave no time to linger on Griffin at all. Just a horrible anti-climatic villain

Well that wasn't necessarily the part that bothered me. I was thinking more

Why is Zeus still in the house? If his master has been dead for weeks the dog would be in a shelter or taken by some other family member. Wat? Nope he's just chillin in the smart house. I guess he owns the house now. Yep. the dog is the master now. Lol. Ya we the audience assume that the nutjob boyfriend is alive, but the world in the film doesn't.

Then the fact tat this movie is all about surveillance, yet when the sister has her throat slit you mean to tell me that the camera in the restaurant wouldn't have picked up on the floating knife? Problem solved right there.

And when the brother shows up with the documents in the psych ward. The papers with the "hey you and my bro will have new identities and live happily ever after" would have stayed with her and she could have just shown it to someone. Ok, maybe that's not what the papers said, but something about the documents would have given it away.

And finally the phone. She finds his phone with the creep pics. Man that's some good ass evidence. But no. Nothing is done with that. So yeah, the movie has some plot holes that I think could have been avoided.

Invisible Man is 90% at RT, wao. Might have to check it out this weekend and see if it’s actually better than the Kevin Bacon one.
That movie was garbo, but how did they do the Kim Dickens invisible titty grab? I remember that scene puzzling me at the time, i figured it was done compressed air or a vacuum, but it was probably just cgi, now that i think about it.

I wouldn't call it garbo. At least it dared to go places. I just think it didn't go far enough. Because lets face it, being invisible essentially means free from consequence. And the invisible man is basically set up for exploring how far a man might go when there is absolutely no consequences for his actions. Granted, how far someone might go also depends on a person's personality to a degree, but everyone once in a while has dark thoughts, that usually remain fantasy. What if someone decides to enact those dark fantasies?

Truth being, the invisible man should be dark as fuck. It should be what on the outside seems like a perfectly good and law-abiding citizen, slowly losing all sense of morality and decency. The Hollow Man, kind of went there, but seemed to lose confidence in it half way through. I at least give it credit for attempting to explore that side of it.

Hollow Man (the Kevin Bacon one) was made by Verhoeven. It's the most forgettable film of his I've seen by a wide margin, and arguably of his whole body of work save maybe that weird TV film he did for Dutch television before Elle ? Had to be really average to sink down all of Paul's talent. There was a monkey in the first act ? And the titty fondling, as Rumata mentioned. That's kinda it.

I'm not saying it was a good film. I just don't think it is completely terrible.

It’s pretty entertaining. I consider it his Panic Room. It feels very diluted, but still Verhoeven to me, which is still good enough.

Yeah, Verhoeven is amazing, but Hollowman was really mediocre schlock.
Kind of neat effects tho.
