I really liked it. I will probably buy it.
It's not perfect and I don't think it's the best horror film since [enter 60s or 70s film here], but it's arguably the best Halloween themed film since, well, y'know the one called Halloween.
It's a great love letter to the holiday and one of the stories in particular is pretty memorable. Dougherty, especially as a first time director, pulls off a few incredible shots that I didn't expect from him. How much of that is benefiting from Bryan Singer being on set, I do not know.
I think it's an absolute travesty that it got shelved, though. It's easily better than stuff like Jennifer's Body and The Stepfather. Producing more horror films like Trick 'r Treat and less college coed garbage is a step in the right direction, I think.
