Watchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?! They announce a sequel, and "it'll be the last one?"

For their next big work, I wonder if they'll try and do a serious art piece like Dan Houser tried with GTA IV.

hahahah holy shit the mission where youre stoned the whole time. The Saints are much more likable in this game imo. You cant help but like their wacky adventures. I've got like 26 hoodz so far. When do i get achievements lol. I have like 4 or something at 33% complete.

the missions for the sons of samidi are much better than the Ronin ones imo. they just seem to be more fun - break a bitch out of prison, blow up a farm, shoot out some helicopters, steal some drugs from crazy addicts.

it doesnt add much but buying up properties and seeing my purple ninjas outside them is great. plus I earn like $20,000 a day.

It was written as a trilogy.

I wasn't even aware there was a story arc. I mean, there's a mishmash of various "let's get rid of that gang" items, but I'm doubting there's anything that passes for epic-arc-driven storyline in SR. The only epic arcs are the poo spraying.

there's a larger arc- I dont count sandbox stories as epic, even the bloated GTA4 'story'

I'm hoping that the next game has you going against the saints in the future when Gat and your character from SR1/2 are old men.

these last few brotherhood missions are annoying as fuck - i almost smashed my keyboard during that one on the boat.  it's bad enough when you have to deal with a million motherfuckers auto-shotties and rpgs, but now i have have two truckfulls of them chase me around constantly?  fuck that.  maybe i should use that hummer i got after the sons campaign...

Have you tried it in co-op?

In Mercs 2 the missions are identical in co-op, meaning you get twice the firepower and firing arcs brought to bear on the same number of bad guys.

...Actually I guess there are a couple mission types where they double the resistance, because co-op "transport" missions gives each of you a truck full of wobbly-physics-objects to get to Point B, and when the enemies show up on screen, they are sometimes conjoined-twinned together. (Pandemic's QA must be ineffectively used.)

better yet, complete the snatch activity and get dual wielded GAL40's with unlimited ammo from your crib. Awwwwesome, mows down waves and waves of baddies no sweat. And unlimited ammo! Also do Drug trafficking for an awesome shotgun with infinte bullets, and Fuzz for dual Kobra pistols, with unlimited ammo

Beat Dead Space yesterday, so I am finally able to get into some SR2. I completed the mayhem activities at one location last night and the change from destroying just cars and killing people to destroying fences and garbage bins took a bit to get used to.

I'm playing on hardcore because I am hardcore.

The infinte ammo weapons sound nice, but I already have loads of good guns (I use the best shotgun and the machine gun/grenade launcher you get for doing all combat tricks) and I don't run out of ammo.  I haven't been using healing items in a while, so I'll go pick more of those up and see if they help.

The problem is that if a dude with a machine gun run up on you, then you're pretty much guaranteed to lose 60-70% of your health, and if there's a shotgun dude nearby he'll finish you off or blow up a nearby car.  realllllly annoying

Yes but hitting him fast enough is hard unless he gets stuck. I nailed him once right when it started, but ended up using cars from his people to clog up his path so when he got stuck boom boom boom

There was one boss like that in the last game; the hulked-out guy with "the Los Carnales" ( :D) Hummer car. At one point I took a back route in a smaller car, and his Hummer got stuck in the alley. I wasted my entire arsenal on him, but he was impervious. (I note that GTA took that philosophy to be the standard M.O. in GTA IV...)

It's lame when a glitch is the only way you can get a boss, but it sucks worse when you can't get a boss despite a glitch.

I do like that SR2 doesn't have those sort of rules (that I've seen). As long as you end up with the right result, the means don't matter.

I'm doing it on Hardcore, and enjoying it... though I've failed a couple missions. I thought we all had to play on Hard or other "extreme" difficulties, or we wouldn't get invitations to the New Year's Eve party.

how do you even do barnstorming?  do targets appear as you fly around?  i've used a plane only once outside of a mission, and i ripped the wing off and exploded before i even left the ground.

i'm at 84% right now, just need to finish up the ultor missions, a few side activities, and then do the boring-ass collect-a-thons.  this might actullay be the first sandbox game i complete 100% - the closest i've come before was Vice City Stories at nintey-something percent.

open your parachute and you should be prompted to push the button again to start the base jumping activity.  a car will dive up and you're supposed to land in it.

i just found out after beating the game that if you pull it off you stop taking fall damage - woulda saved me A LOT of needless deaths.  o well

I beat the game last night, great ride all the way through, although I had a lot of trouble on the Brotherhood mission where you are on a tanker and have to shoot down waves of enemies.  Had a lot of trouble with the helicopters coming crashing down and killing me.  The one I took to get to the tanker glitched and fell through the landing area into the hull, so every time I restarted I had to run like hell out of there before it exploded.   :lol

Is that really the end after the Ultor missions, though?  (I did the one hidden mission that starts in the police HQ.)

Also the one thing I never did get are any airplanes.  Where do you get those?
