I've run into a roadblock with sending my person a major part of their gift. I was mailing out some stuff yesterday at the post office and asked the gal working what I would need to do to send it (not illegal, not a sexy toy, not alcohol), and she looked a little weirded out by it.

I GOT MY PACKAGE TODAY!!!

i just opened it and rummaged around inside a little because i want to wait until my friend comes over (coincidentally, she's from japan and so is the package) so that we can explore it's hidden treasures together!

I DID however take a photo of the box right after i opened it...



it is FULL of stuff and there's pikmin and a kirby CD on top! oh my fucking god!!

so turns out that my package was from GROO! i waited until my japanese friend got here and then we unpacked the box together, and she told me what everything was and what kind of flavours.

when we had unpacked everything we laid it out on the table and it looked like this:

an issue of GROO THE WANDERER from fucking 1989!! holy shit, i was 2 years old when this came out! i don't own anything like this so this was pretty fucking awesome to discover at the bottom of the box.

Hang on - I just realised it might have arrived!  I got a note in my post box on Saturday about a package that came while I was out.  I had ordered a game from Hong Kong and thought that might be what it is, but it probably isn't because that would have fit in my post box and furthermore they don't deliver regular mail on Saturday.

It seems Australian Customs was into it checking for possible quarantine breaches.  I suspect that's why it took so long to arrive.  They left the two little coloured leaflets in there that you can see below.  Also notice the amazing big box made out of smaller shoe boxes - definitely some amazing handiwork here:



Within the box, I was awestruck to discover these fine examples of what I assume must be POLISH craftsmanship:






THESE ARE SO AWESOME.   Thank you so much Borys.   When I went to Europe my biggest challenge was bringing back some awesome stuff in my all-too-limited luggage space.  This is just the sort of thing I was hoping my Secret Santa would send me.

I'll take more pics when I put them up on the wall.  They are so awesome I can't wait to put them up on display.

Yeah, I've had Customs go through packages before, totally fucking demolish things, and then just throw them back in the box and send it out.  As I was unpacking, I could see they'd been into it.  I checked the items though and luckily they were undamaged and in perfect condition.

Thanks so much for the information on the items - I was going to ask if you could give some info on the items but wasn't sure if I was asking too much of you since you already went to so much trouble. Now when friends ask me about the items I'm going to look so cultured that they'll feel smarter just being around me.

I figured the horseshoe was for good luck!  It'll be awesome since I always forget about upping my luck stat and it always gets left behind my other stats.  So no matter what my luck will now be permanently maxed out.

Sorry you were stressed out worrying it wouldn't make it.  Polish + Australian postal services = match made in heaven.  Thanks for all the trouble you went to, I know the postage cost a damn fortune.

BTW, my dad's wife is Polish.  She lives in a different town to me but when they come to visit I'm really looking forward to showing her.

I keep gushing, but I really love the gifts.  They're just the sort of thing I'd be looking for if I visited another country.  Thanks again!
