I guess I'm going to play through Fallout 1 & 2 before doing the Fallout 3 DLC.  I didn't expect Fallout 1 to be as short as it is.  Started last night and less than a day later I'm halfway through the game, lol.  Will probably finish both games in a week.

Bug #1: Saving Crash
Non-Persistant creatures\NPC's placed by mods will cause the game to crash upon trying to save after visiting and leaving the area where they are in.

Bug #2: Vanishing\Resetting Objects
Non-Persistant objects (statics ect) placed by mods will vanish upon loading them the second time. If you changed an already existing object in Fallout3.esm then it will reset to the default position (state, as it was in Fallout3.esm) upon a second loading.

Bug #3: Skin color on new NPC's defaults to "white" no matter what

Well you can just uncheck all the mods you are running before you start the game. Still sucks.  But whatever.  Do you even need to update to 1.50 to play Broken Steel?  If not I'd just stick with 1.4~~ and my mods when I play the DLCs.

Oh ffs, I just downloaded a second time and it didn't install again. It says the files are corrupt. I cannot express how shitty GFW Live is. What is the point of having an approval process for content when a good portion of the time there are errors that prevent the content from working at all. I just looked on gamefaqs, it appears that the PC content is in fact borked

It was saying 58, now it says 64. But Ive been reading other boards and apparently once you unlock an achievement It will revert back to 58 again and you lose the points! Unbelievable

Apparently Befupsda or whatever they are called know alllll about this but let their crap through anyway. not to mention all the shit with the PC downloads...

Its going to be sorted in the next day or two with points retroactively added (APPARENTLY)

by the time you're there a fix should be out

One thing about Fallout 3 is I feel you probably get more out of the game if you are from the east coast or at least have a decent geographical knowledge of that area and the buildings.  Kinda like how I dig driving around Vegas in PGR3 since I've been to Vegas and recognize the stuff.  Seeing all the streets, buildings you know in post apocalyptic form must be pretty cool.

If you download Broken Steel, does it fix the level cap straight away?

I have no intention to finish the main quest anytime soon hence can't play Broken Steel, but I want my level cap fixed NOW.

yep the level cap fixes up striaght away, you get a prompt on screen. Some of the new perks are pretty funky

I got the grim reaper perk finally, shit is awesome!

Thoughts on Broken Steel:[spoilers for the 1st 2 quests]

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Seems to be REALLY short. I gained 3-4 levels and have finished 2 of the 3 quests in like 1-2 hours. Although Im doing the final quest now and the baddies are hard as fuck! Theres these new feral ghoul reavers who are like 4x more powerful than deathclaws! I found a mutant overlord and got the new laser rifle too, its really good.

Its great that Liberty Prime is talked about a lot and turns up again, but I almost cired when he died  :'(

Sounds like foregoing No Weakness for Almost Perfect is the way to go.  If 10 SPECIALS get lowered to 9 that would suck horribly though.

Nerves of Steel sounds OK.  Rad Absorption would remove the minor annoyance of having to take Rad Away every 5-10 hours of playtime I guess.  All this time to think up perks and that's the best they can come up with?

nerves of steel is unnessecary with Grim Reaper imo, unless you're a weak combat character. I've got maxed weapons and all the combat perks.

Rad Absorption is useless again, I've usually got 40+ radaway in my inventory.

Quantum Chemist could be useful for those who've been drinking their Quantumns but still want to finish the quest.

You could start a character now with 1 or something for intelligence or personality and bump it up by level 24. You'd be awesomely strong yet stupid :dur

I beat Fallout 1 (omg so good) and started playing Operation Anchorage.

WTF is this!?!!?

It's like Bethseda decided Fallout 3 hadn't raped the original enough in it's move to non-strategic SHOOT THEM IN THE FACE gameplay, that they decided to just drop all pretenses and make the first DLC a straight up shitty B-level FPS game.  This was fun for about 10 mins and then running through hallways and shooting chinese soldiers got boring REAL FAST.  Who thought making the simulation a straight up FPS was a good idea?  FPS depends on good AI and good level design, something Bethseda has neither of.  What Fallout 3 excels in is questing and there is none of that here, wtf.

The next two DLCs better be way better.

haha.  Yeah, I mean it's decently fun and blowing off heads in vats is enjoyable.  But there really is hardly any strategy or depth to the fighting.  Not that there was a ton in the original turn-based system, but item management, crippling, and managing distance were more important.

I can't wait for New Vegas, as I bet Obsidian will take the Fallout 3 combat and add back in the strategy of old (and hopefully a turn-based option for those who want it).

I'm kind of glad the perks are shitty, it gives me a chance to try out some of the perks I wanted to from earlier, which didn't seem all that useful. I got the animal friend perk, and I got into this insane battle with Enclave troopers that were about to kick the shit out of me and this Yao Guai came up and started attacking the Enclave troopers, saving my ass. It was funny because I only had the first level of the perk, so I don't know why it came and helped me. Also at some point a Deathclaw joined in the fray, but it attacked me after it killed everything else, so I don't think animal friendship works on them.  :lol

;)  I'm hearing there's a reason why it's not called Fallout 3: New Vegas or Fallout 4.  It's not a sequel (like Kotor II was) or expansion.  It's a completely new game using Bethseda's engine and getting the permission/licensing through them since they own the ip now.

My character has Charisma of 1 and Luck of 1.  I have Barter and Speechcraft high enough already so putting Charisma to 9 won't achieve much, and a little extra luck is not much use as I sneak everywhere and make critical shots anyway.

Still, I'll probably take Almost Perfect :dur

My guy is pretty well built,  got a 100 repair skill so Ive always got top condition tesla armour and plasma rifle :rock

Well I finished the Broken Steel quests. Overall I think The Pitt is the best DLC pack (I just loved the ambience and darkness, all the industrial shit, it was totally homo-erotic. Leather, steel mills etc.) But Broken Steel is awesome and without spoiling anything - it gives the game a proper slam bang finale.

Im a bit gutted I didnt wait to do the DLC, now I gotta grind 5 levels for level 30  :( Oh well, theres some solid farming methods, and I can use the 'Here and Now' perk for the final level. I might also take the exp boosting one just to speed things up. My guy is a killing machine, I can take down Mutant Overlords on Super Hard without much trouble so i figure I can just go wild with whatever I want perk-wise

I think I'm going to do all the achievements for this game. I only have one bobblehead left to find, and the only other achievements I need to do are the DLC quests, the last few Main Quests, and killing the Super Mutant Behemoths. So far I've only run into one Behemoth, and it was trapped in a cage at Evergreen Mills.  :lol I thought I would have run into at least a few more throughout my travels.

Oh yeah, I guess I still have to do the alignment achievements too. That won't be as fun.  :-\

So far I've only run into one Behemoth, and it was trapped in a cage at Evergreen Mills.  :lol I thought I would have run into at least a few more throughout my travels.

Oh yeah, I guess I still have to do the alignment achievements too. That won't be as fun.  :-\

The giant Super Mutant that you and the Brotherhood of Steel took down in front of the Galaxy News Radio building is a Behemoth, as well.

The only other missable one is in Raven Rock

Ah shit. Already restarted. The guide on xbox360achievements.org is wrong then.

Did you erase all your old saves?  I NEVER erase old saves.
