Decided to play the game again with a new character. I was good last time, so I'm going to be a complete ass with this character. Is it possible to make a decent melee only character? I'm guessing it isn't.

STOP

theres another mission which involves going back to Vault 101. You can get it then

The only other missable one is in Raven Rock

Ah shit. Already restarted. The guide on xbox360achievements.org is wrong then.

Did you erase all your old saves?  I NEVER erase old saves.

I think I'm gonna go buy this later today. I've been totally inactive with all the next-gen shit, and since I have a boner for RPGs in general I figure this is a good starting point. Plus, I'm broke, so I need something I can spend hundreds of hours on.

One question though: How much is the DLC? Is it worth it?

Yeah, I had erased them at that point. Doesn't matter though as I played the beginning a bit different and I like how it turned out much more.

One thing I've noticed is that night time is pretty scary (or I'm just a big pussy). So, I hate traveling the wasteland during it. Is there any way to fast forward time other than finding a random bed to sleep on?

Indeed, that was my plan last time I played I guess.  Since I won't be playing the game much though I could have waited a couple more weeks to download Broken Steel.  No biggie.

I think I'll get The Pitt too.

Skip anchorage unless you hate life.

Unfortunately I got halfway through Anchorage and saved.  Now I could skip it with an older save and just do the other 2, but I don't want to give up all the xp I got and I also want to see the Outcast story stuff that comes AFTER this stupid shitty VR part.

But then I haven't played in days because everytime I think about playing I remember my save is in the middle of Anchorage and I still have to do all 3 objects :l

anchorage is fine if you have nothing else to do in the game. its probably worth 400 not 800 points.

Anchorage gives you a couple of pieces of killer loot at the end, though:

Winterized T-51b armor with a 45 DR which never wears out or breaks, and the Gauss Rifle, a sniper-styled energy weapon which does tremendous damage and has a high chance for crits

It's worth it for that, but the storyline of the quest itself is pretty meh

Just got 1000/1000 on the base game's achievements. I found an awesome glitch online that makes the game think you have unlimited scrap metal, allowing you to get as much free money and xp as you want. Let me get the neutral and evil achievements I missed on my first playthrough in a matter of an hour.

Does killing Mr. Burke do anything as far as preventing getting certain achievements or any cool parts of the game?

I can't figure out what to do with him. I've already agreed to detonate the bomb, so whenever I walk up to it the only option is to detonate it. But, I don't want to. Telling the sheriff only gets him killed. Don't want that to happen. However, I'm guessing his house is probably the best in Megaton. I also figure that the empty house up near his is granted to you if you disarm the bomb.

Need some suggestions.

talk to the sheriff, when you go to confront the dude in the bar, as soon as the sheriff starts to walk away, hit V to go into vats and then headshot the guy who hired you.  it's how i got it done

I'd blow it up on the second playthrough just to see what it looks like but don't blow it up yet if you don't have all the achievements.

There's a big survival guide quest from the supply store girl that has some achievement points.

You can actually keep doing that quest as Moira survives the explosion and I think she moves to Rivet City or something.  It's kind of funny actually.

But I think it's well worth saving Megaton for the house.  It's not as nice as the Tenpenny suite but it is incredibly easy to fast travel to when you're dumping all your crap.  Which is important for the next 100-200 hours of the game.

Even the Bobbleheads are pretty simple. Only a small few of them really require you to go deep into a dungeon.

I beat Anchorage and now I don't want to play FO3 for a while again :(  Really soured me.  I don't like how when you do beat it all you get is some npc background argument and then a small firefight, wtfffff.  I wanted to really get to know the Outcasts and do missions for them :(

The snipers in Anchorage were pretty annoying too and I like how there was no ammo dispenser before the boss fight.  I was out of sniper ammo when I got there and had to use a pistol which was like 90000 hits to kill him even with 100 on small guns and vats to the head.  Had to reload and win the speech check.

There seems to be a game-breaking bug with the lawbringer perk on the 360 version.  If you do choose it, do a manual save right before going to the Regulator HQ to sell the bad guy fingers.

The first time I went there, I saw the woman you sell the fingers to outside of the Regulator HQ crouching because the game script maybe thought it detected enemies.  I go up to her and sell some fingers.

I play for a couple more hours, and then go back there a second time to sell some more fingers.  She just runs out into the wasteland for no reason, and she's faster than me so it's impossible to catch up and talk to her.  I keep loading up the last auto-save and the same thing happens no matter what I try.  I play for a couple more hours, try waiting, sleeping, everything but she's just not there anymore.  Maybe she's dead?  It makes the perk useless.

Feckfeckfeck.

Same exact thing happened to me.

I did try to chase her, but she ran past that armory full of raiders and they flagged me, so I stopped to kill them. I got the message that she was "unconcious" a couple minutes later.

She never woke up and went back to regulator HQ.

I would check the place out every few hours to see if she returned, but no dice.

Eventually, I went in the place and they were fighting a Mr. Handy. I shotgunned it, accidentally clippped a regulator, they all conned red to me, and I wiped them out.

Savior of the wasteland, indeed.
