it worked

that was sort of a distinguished mentally-challenged roundabout way to get the dlc, but now i know what to do when it doesn't show up in the game itself

do you hate fallout 3 now, demi

the DLC is awesome so far

at first is it a bit odd that it's basically a linear shooter, but it's still awesome to beat down a dirty chinese bastard wearing a stealth suit with my barehands

I'm not sure if I'm liking the sound of the DLC (I was hoping you could wander the Alaskan wastes), I hear you can't carry your weapons over but can you carry over your exp/perks/skills from the main game?

I'd rather buy the GTAIV dlc. I don't want to play a half-baked corridor shooter in game that can't get the 'shooter' part right.

you have perks and stuff, since bloody mess and mysterious stranger were still with me, but all in all the DLC is probably not worth it.  The equipment you get at the end all sucks, and apparently you get a perk if you collect all the intel, but I got only 9, so forget that.  It's pretty much running down a linear path and shooting people.  At first it is neat since you can fire your gun like crazy without worrying about the condition, and the events taking place are pretty cool if you followed the story through the main campaign, but in the end it's just a few hours of gunning down chinese, then picking up a bunch of so-so equipment.

Still, it was cool to see the events that led up to the wasteland.  It's a lot of the minor things like seeing turrets called "Mark I" instead of the higher numbered ones you're used to.  Problem is that you have to pay for it all, I do feel a bit ripped off.

oh, and actually the sword is a bit cool since it's basically the Alien Blaster if it was a sword and had a dash attack.

yeah this DLC is a bit poopy but whatever, as swaggaz said if youve finished the game its a flavorful diversion (as in builds on the Fallout game world pretty good) for a couple of hours, and since I loved Fallout 3 Im enjoying it. Hopefully the next installments are a bit better, and are actual new quests in the Wasteland. Level cap raise etc. will be good, mainly Im just looking forward to my first 1250/1250  :P

Butch is still quite the cunt ever after I saved his mom. The only reason I spared him was his barber/hairdresser comment which made me laugh.

I ended up being the paragon of kindness by sparing the Overseer's life and allowing them to open up the vault but on my next playthrough I'm going to deeply enjoy being Captain Asshole, master of punching people's faces off.

So what happens if you kill the Overseer before you leave Vault 101 and then attempt the Homecoming quest? Is there another Overseer to contend with or is the quest not available?

If you convince the rebels to stay, you get good karma.  But yeah, I wouldn't call that a "good" ending.

I accidentally killed the original overseer, and the only options when you go back to the vault the second time are to leave the vault forever, talk the rebels into staying, or kill the new overseer because he attacks you.  I went with the latter.

OXM's podcast recently uncovered a priceless gem of information for all Fallout 3 and achievement fans worldwide. Todd Howard, Fallout 3's Executive Producer stated that Fallout 3 will hit the 1350 mark after the March DLC pack titled "Broken Steel".

Howard states "the second one is going to have 4 more achievements worth 100 points, and the third one, right now, is going to have 6, worth 150 points." Howard continues to mention that it might not stop there, "350 points ... assuming these are the only ones we do."

god this game is so awesome. this morning i did the tenpenny tower mission and tried to go the peaceful route by convincing the residents to let the ghouls in. well i managed to convince or strongarm everyone into agreeing except this one married couple.

they were in their room so i shut their door and then i pulled out my plasma rifle, aimed at the womens head, and blew it clean off (i killed her first because she was standing up while the husband was sitting in a chair). the husband mutters some shit about his poor wife before i shot him and turned his ass into a pile of goo. fucking bigots had it coming!

doing this allowed me to complete the quest.

Tenpenny is a cool quest.  I just finished it having left it unfinished for a long time.  I went the peaceful route too, but discovered a naughty cheating love letter which I then told the wife of the couple about.

She took care of the husband and herself for me, and I'd previously enslaved that other bitch so she was already taken care of.

My only regret is I didn't kill Mr Tenpenny and take his cool outfit.

At this point, I check play-asia's compatibility on everything before purchasing anything not specifically for my 360's specific region. Even if I see a good buy on the Asia version, I'm avoiding them for the converse of the reason you list above. The other day I picked up Midnight Club Los Angeles, only later realizing "Oh, this is the English-language Asia version" - before opening it, I checked Play-Asia and SURE ENOUGH it will not run on US machines. Because it was unopened, it was a pretty easy return.

Just beat Operation Anchorage... was a bit underwhelming, like others said it's an extremely linear affair with very little of the stuff that makes Fallout 3 fun (i.e. creative solutions to missions). Oh well, a nice 100 points.. hopefully the other 2 DLC packs will be more interesting.

While Operation Anchorage was pretty lame gameplay wise I did like it as a flavor padding backstory to the main game. I'll still buy all the DLC, Fallout 3 is just so great

Oh, I checked it first, hence the "double fuck" line.  :)  I was seriously considering the Asian version, but a friend says that the DLC DOES NOT CURRENTLY WORK FOR THE ASIAN VERSION.  He said the latest patch isn't available for it and you need the patch to run the DLC, which he purchased.

So fuck it, I'll stick with the PS3 version.
