omg the rooftop finale is soooo hard

they throw like two tanks in a row at you then you have to hold off for a long ass time waiting for the chopper, then you have to run for the chopper as infinite swarms race towards you

beat it though, but it took many retries

How do I

trigger the end scenario on the hospital rooftop?  The helicopter pilot tells me to get ready and call him back, but the option to call him back never comes up.  Do I need to do something special - flip a switch, or something?

I'm listening to the developer commentary, if that makes a difference.  If this is the only level available for the commentary, then they didn't give any sign that it was over - no "thanks for listening" or anything of the sort.  Maybe I need to finish the level in-game before I can trigger the sequence in the dev commentary?

Since so many of us are getting L4D for PC, I hope there'll eventually be a mod for more players.  L4D seems like it would work well even with 8 players.

i was playing single player on normal and got my ass handed to me coming out of the sewers

as soon as i poked my head out there was a tank, a boomer, and about 800 infected lined up to deathfuck me

that tank pounded me, and me alone, i mean that fucker was knocking zombies out of his way to get at me

those who thought the demo was too easy, hoo boy, you just don't even know

Is anyone going to play the PC version past a week?  My brother and best friend nabbed the 360 version, along with others, but I might get the PC version if you folks will play with me?  It plays pretty smoothly on my new laptop.

my brother was playing single-player, and he discovered something really cool on the hospital level

when you're on that open construction zone area, a smoker can grab you from across the gaps and it'll actually show a cinematic angle of you dangling from the side of the building, 20 feet below the edge

I've still only completed the first level. I've been busy with school today so I haven't gotten to play. I probably won't play more until tomorrow night.

I burnt through all the maps tonight in about five hours.  Awesome, crazy fun.  The finale levels are always the best, as you try and fend off the horde and rush to the extraction point at the same time.  My brother only made it to the extraction point once (the credits list all deceased players "In Memory Of" ) and I made it twice.  I would've done it thrice had a tanker not killed me right when I inched my toe onto the ship.  Good stuff!

It's pretty much the same, except you play with bots instead of humans and that's kind of lame.  There's no real story - just four different escape from infested area scenarios.  I imagine there will be more downloadable scenarios in the near future.

Oh, the achievements are a lot of fun.

This is really a coop multiplayer game, though.  Either split screen, XBL or PC.

i played through the first two scenarios in single player and had fun, the AI bots are tight, and the dialogue + sound cues always let you know what's up and what you need to do next

the "director" is pretty sadistic, always dropping witches up in my shit

Shogun of Fear and I went through this on normal and are currently attempting Expert. Wow, we got through No Mercy, but the next level is rough. We almost had it and then at the end a tank busted up on us and slaughtered us. Good times though.

they do this all the time, they'll probably only get it in after the $39.99 sale is over

i'm so glad they're going out of business, just a shitty mismanaged store all around



anyway, that made me miss the steam sale too, and i refuse to pay $50

they have a four-pack on steam, four copies for $150, which would come to $37.50 per copy

if anyone wants to pitch in with me let me know via pm, everyone can paypal me the $37.50, and i'll send out the copies

otherwise, i probably won't be getting the pc version until there's a sale somewhere

Why would anyone get this game for the 360 if they have a PC that can run it in the first place?  Not only did Valve *not* support TF2 on the consoles at all (while at the same time releasing content regularly on the PC), but the lifespan of people actually playing TF2 on consoles was very short.  Plus it's cheaper on the PC.

People still play TF2 on 360 - I'm not sure what you're talking about.  I was playing games with friends just last week.

I'd easily buy L4D for the Xbox 360 because my FRIENDS also bought said version and I'm likely to get more enjoyment out of that than a few forum folks who will play it for a week or two and then move on to something else.

I am an exception I guess, but I'm gonna be playing the game more at home with roxy than on the computer. But I did pick up both cause I know the value of the PC version especially with being able to use the TF2 maps and stuff.

I cant wait to get home and kill some infected.
