What's wrong with Felix today? Three runs, a wild pitch, two walks and five hits in 2.2 innings so far...

What? We have Pavano and Laffey pitching the next two games! Two quality starts coming right up!

We put a lot of eggs in our basket in hoping that Carmona would bounce back and Lee would still be an elite pitcher. Not looking like a good game plan so far.

Two points:

- not worried about the loss tonight as the starting pitching continues to impress

- Griffey looked really good in a Mariner home white. All is right in the world again.

Sore shoulder could end Glavine's career.

Gotta say I'm not surprised about this, to be honest.  I think it's kind of time for him to hang 'em up.  It's a shame that he wasn't able to pitch well at the end with the Braves, but oh well.

As for calling up Hanson, I would honestly prefer to give Reyes one more chance since I don't like not having one lefty in the rotation.  Then hopefully we can get something for Vasquez at the deadline, cause hey- even if he's gonna pitch modestly well, I'd still rather have Hudson over Vasquez for basically the same price next season, and we're probably not affording both.

I'll be at the game tomorrow night. Hopefully Bedard has a good night against the Tigers and isn't a selfish douchebag.

The Yankee ballpark in Arlington is ridiculous. I have seen more one-handed home runs in three days then I did in the height of the steroid era in 1999.

The ball carries just as much to left field as it does to right, it's just the left field can hold more balls inside. I know it's a severe SSS, but it's friggin April.

I think it would be hilarious if New York spent all this money on pitching and their franchise turns into Texas or a Colorado of old. Where pitchers go to die and hitters find new life with inflated stats.

How awesome is a televised Red Sox/Yankee slugfest going to be when it's loaded full of commercials and lasts 6 hours, instead of the usual 4 1/2?

The new park is a problem. When youve got left handers being able to fist homeruns over the right field wall...it's not a good look. Somehow those balls are going to need to be contained, and I'm not quite sure how. At the very least some shielding from that "jet-stream" is desirable.

Oh and if Pavano somehow beats the Yanks today I'm going to be very mad.

Holy shit at my 10-0 lead in Fantasy btw.

I'm not sure on this but I believe it is (wiki doesn't seem to have more info on it). But I know the sun still glares down on you in left the same way it was in the old stadium. But the presence of that jet stream, which wasn't there at the old stadium, seems to indicate that the park isn't completely parallel to the old one.

I mean, we play with it to so it'll even out; but it's such a gross oversight that it's embaassing.

I heard something on WFAN yesterday that said the breeze from the Hudson actually blows unobtrusively into the new stadium which is what's causing the homeruns. And as the weather warms it'll get even worse - the jet stream will coming in at a higher intensity + warm weather means all you have to do is pop it up to shallow right-center and that thing is blowing out.

It's hilarious how 1.5 billion dollars can't buy you competent computer modeling software.  :lol

If the old stadium is still standing, then maybe its amplifying that stream by funneling it through a smaller area?

I don't think so...the steam is coming in from the west and NYS is built north east of the old stadium

Kinda hard to tell from that angle, but it looks like it may not be lined up exactly. The stream looks like it may have blown to the deep left center part in the old stadium. Now it looks like it may blow directly to left. My angles are not exactly accurate though. But, there definately has to be something to this.

What was the point of building a new Yankee Stadium anyway?

The old one was totally fine. It wasn't like Dolphins Stadium or Tropicana Field which need to be replaced. And after watching a replay of the Yankees game yesterday, the old stadium looks a lot better than the new one anyway, even if it's just because of nostalgia or whatever.

And now the Yankees are paying the price for their $1.3 billion waste of money. I guess this is the new Curse of the Bambino. :lol
