Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (PSP) - Just got this in the mail and just started it.  This game seems fun and as others have pointed out, Grandia-like.  Being a big fan of Grandia 2 on the Dreamcast, its tripping a nostalgic nerd trigger for those kinds of JRPGs.  I'm really liking the game so far and can't wait to dig into it further.

Dynasty Warriors 7 (360) - 42% complete in conquest mode.  I have 126,000 KOs and have ten sworn allies.  I was catassing the hexes yesterday and making significant inroads in getting it finished.

I got my box of cheap PSP games.  I thought about rooting through the PSP lists and seeing if there are any cheap deals.  $70 for about six games.

you are a man of excellent taste and distinction :bow

i just did a mission where i had to blow up some stuf atop some rockets, this involved shooting tons of baddies, taking some elevator and running all over the place in a jeep.. then after you blow the first three rockets the game goes like "OH NOEZ! THERE WERE FOUR ROCKETS! GO STEAL A JET AND TAKE DOWN THE LAST!"

and that's when i realized that after playing this game i don't need to play any other sandbox game anymore,i just reached sandbox zen

The first game is almost a classic except for all the combat garbage everywhere that ruins it.  But since all the non-combat is still perfect, it's good.  The 2nd game is like the worst game ever.  No redeeming values.  The 3rd game is kind of shitty too.

At least that was my experience from playing all 3 on PC back in Jan.

ACHIEVEMENT FREE WEEKEND: as in, I didn't get any.

Wrapped up co-op case missions in Dead Rising 2 with Sceneman. The 'cheev popped for him, not for me. I'd failed to save after Case 6-1, and two or three times I was kicked by a bug when Scenester saved, so I have -no- idea how many co-op missions it actually thinks I have completed.

Completed checking each feather location in a guide for Assassins Creed 2. I've got 96 of 100 feathers. I just knew something like this was going to happen. This is "the last Masyaf flag" all over again; I'm doubly-done with collectibles which don't have a map built into the game. That's one thing The Saboteur did right.

At least I got a badass hammer after getting 65 feathers though, and I think it is needed for the all-weaps 'cheev.

you do know you can check how many feathers remain in each region/part of a town? I cant remember exactly how to do it but its possible from the pause menu.

good to see magus enjoying JC2. Its such an awesome game. One of the funnest 1000/1000's on the 360.

I got HOOKED on RDR again. Seriously. Going for 100% in Undead Nightmare and doing challenges and stuff is soooo addictive. Classic "just one more" gameplay. I cant wait to 1500 this badboy :punch

I played some random PSP games:

Cladun - Beat this in the first 5 minutes, meh

Invasion of Privacy - Micromanagement, barf, pass

Jikandia - Time limits in games, barf

Half Minute Hero - Time limits, barf

At least I can put in some real games now...

After spending 4+ hours doing this task, I decided to scope the guides at TrueAchievements.com and noticed it just now:
Quote
And to reiteriate what another users pointed out, under secondary memory you can see exactly how many feathers you have period, how many you have in a respective city, and how many you have in each area. As a result in a worst case scenario you will never have more than the 12 feathers in Flori to keep track of. In other words you will not end up with the big problem in Assassin's Creed one, where you have 99/100 feathers but have no idea where the last one is.

Played and beat LaserCat for XBLIG... pretty good game, even if it was a bit on the easy and short side. Fun, nonlinear platforming... like a simpler VVVVVVVVVV.

Also played the trials of Islands of Wakfu and Trouble Witches Neo. Really liked Wakfu, lovely graphics very reminiscent of a Vanillaware game.

Lol, my muscle memory is on auto pilot in Futari. I think, 'Okay, I'm not going to milk anything. This run is purely for survival, not scoring.' I get to the stage 2 boss, and before I even realize what I'm doing, I'm already half way done milking him. God damn it. Got a new high score though, 459m. The run went horribly though so I can't believe I actually beat my old score. Seriously, two deaths in stage 3 and two in stage 4. Shameful.

I can't stop playing though. The game has its hooks in me. Can't be bothered playing other crappy games when I still got work to do here.

I figured I'd play three and then 4 if I actually liked the universe and gameplay. Yeah I know its long but I'm use to longish western rpgs.

pretty sound reasoning.

I think the games are great but a few people here will say otherwise. I really like the art and the high school stuff. Other people say its weeaboo crap. Whatever, really. The game is sweet and thats all that matters to me.

It seems neat so far although I'm only like an hour in.

And its always refreshing to play an RPG that isn't just a riff on The Lord of the Rings.

Daxter, I am double-dutch done with you. The last boss had a grid of double-jump distanced platforms, but used a boss-targeted-camera which constantly rotated out of perpendicular alignment with the grid I was attempting to navigate. I gave it a dozen tries, then realized it's time to move on. Daxter was plenty of fun until that boss. More fun than Jak2, for sure.

I went back to GTA: Liberty City Stories on PSP, which I started in 2008 according to the save file. !!! I'd lent it to a co-worker, who had it for probably two years, during which time I started and completed GTA: Vice City Stories. LCS is fun, and my nostalgia is still strong for the first iteration of Liberty City, but I'm tempted to re-play this on PS2 to get the superior frame-rate and camera controls.

pretty sound reasoning.

I think the games are great but a few people here will say otherwise. I really like the art and the high school stuff. Other people say its weeaboo crap. Whatever, really. The game is sweet and thats all that matters to me.

Speaking of nostalgia... I will probably pick up a Persona whenever I move back to the USA, once nostalgia has me in its grip.  I've already got enough of Japan in my day-to-day life, even without pretending to be a J-highschooler. I tend to enjoy Japanese media more when I'm not living here.

Which version of P3 are you playing? Hopefully P3 FES. And I might suggest avoiding 'The Answer', since it seems like Atlus tried their hardest to ruin the story and characters. But it's fun to play, so whatev.

Also got 485m in Futari. Stages 1-4 went pretty well; I no miss'd 1-3 and only died once on stage 4. Stage 5 went horrbily - died twice before fighting Larsa and couldn't dodge any of her shit. Fucking hate that bitch. I do not approve of such a gigantic difficulty spike.

The answer is good because otherwise P3's ending makes no sense.  The answer actually explains wtf happened at the end and clears up all the remaining mysteries while giving more backstory for the characters.  The actual story of it is meh, but it's worth playing for the parts of P3's plot that it fills out.

Playin me some PSP GO :rock Been having heaps of fun with Chinatown Wars, I love that they revisited and vastly improved the original GTA style. Also played a bunch of boring ass racing games too that I got with the system, Extreme Justice Force or some shit. So bad. NFS Shift, ZzZzz, Gran Turismo  Wipeout and Motorstorm. Ok so I've been spoilt by Wipeout HD and relative to that Pulse just feels like piloting a floating sack of shit, Motorstorm was easily the best (from my limited experience) of the bunch. Also, SF: Alpha Max 3 is a freakin awesome port.

First handheld I've bought since GBC btw, hence my excitement.

got 3 achievements left to get, and they are all hard multi ones.

getting to wave 15 in Zombie Overrun is no joke. Maybe if there werent so many fucking scrubs playing that mode. All the awesome players prefer spawn killing in Free Roam for some reason. Fuck this game

Seriously having 92 out of 95 achievements sucks, I need em all. Game must have 2nd highest cheevo count on the 360 just behind Orange Box

1000/1000 in Assassins Creed 2.

Thanks, Sceneman, for bringing up the menu option I'd not used. Turns out TUSCANY had all four of the missing feathers, and the reason I'd not noticed it on the first go through is because the map I used was nested for Tuscany. After that, the rest of the game is a snap. Great game.

Truly a WTF ending though. Is AC: Brotherhood more of that? Is Desmond as much a bystander as in AC2?

Gonna try to finally finish Arkham Asylum. I've started it several times before, even made it about 10 hours in, but ended up losing my saves through dealing with Windows installs. It's a great game though and I'd like to finish it sometime. There's nothing really pressing to play at the moment, so I'll pass the time catching up.
