The final act has enough cool branching and different outcomes that I'm happy with it.

I loved all the stuff you could do with:

anyhow I been playing Tales of Vesperia pretty hard, the game is very very good. I like the VA so I looked up the voice actors to see what else they've done. Turns out the woman that plays Karol alo voice Emil in Nier, and I was like whoa holy shit she uses the same voice for both characters.

Yuri's VA is fucking sweet, some of the best VA I've heard in an RPG. This and Baten Kaitos Origins probably have the best VA localisations I've heard.

That's ok, Troy Baker is top tier VA.

I also like JYB, only for his screaming.

Nolan North is easily low tier

Does Shadows of the Damned just add HP to enemies on higher difficulty? it's not hard, just tedious.  the boss fights are a bore because it's doing the same thing for 10 minutes.  also the aiming and controls in general feel a bit sloppy.  The aiming behavior is lifted from RE4 but there's like no consideration for how it'd work against these faster enemies with sometimes tiny weak spots.  Fixed in the center or just a cursor would've helped.

also read that hard makes red gems more expensive for some reason.  light shot size doesn't seem to do anything and I wasted points on that.

Frozen Hot Sauce is my jam.

So... Well... I got double S rank on all the levels in Dustforce and got all the keys. Eagerly unlocked their corresponding doors to see what bounteous treasures they held.

It was this.

But instead of the guy in the video acing the level like a pro, imagine someone spazzing around for an hour without even reaching the end of the level with checkpoints turned on. Because that's where I'm at right now. Life is ruined.

Chenghou Project  :-\

From what I gathered back when it launched, and even when discussion sparked up again with Fury, consensus seemed to be that Sebenco Climb was the most asshole track, but I've never been able to feel like I was in control on Chenghou. That infernal sloped corner always ruins me. :shakefist

I'm ok with CHenghou forward, but reverse  :-\ I just went through 60 laps in time trial getting decent'ish times ~25sec average but get competely thrown once other racers come into the equation. Sebenco climb is great, probably my favourite in the game, Chenghou is the worst.

Finished the first "story" of Chaos Rings. This game is awesome. Do I have to beat all 4 to get the final scene/ending?

It even explains why there's 4 stories, and I hope the final scene/scenario is what I think it is.

Just got 369 million in Akai Katana, which puts me at #5 overall and #2 with Type C. I messed up a few things here and there, but overall I'm still really happy with this. And I don't think I've ever beaten a game so many times before. I've got 20 clears that are over 300 million now. :lol

yeah since I cant afford any new games for awhile I was considering replaying this for some achievements. It's a fun enough game, but the whole time it just feels like a poor mans RE4. Still, the one liners are worth the price of admission.

yeah I read some tips online, the 'Field' list on the map screen lists all the places u can piss. So I'm just systematically going through and peeing everywhere. Ah, the joys of being an achievement hunter (not whore).

Game is beast as fuck, no idea why I ever put this down. Oh, it was often when I got stuck on a BS Secret Mission... but I've done all of the shithouse ones now.

This is one of the best JRPGs ever. SCENEMAN IS BACK ON THE WEEABOO BUZZ BABY

also, one of the greatest video game openings ever:

on par with MGS2 and the awesome intro for Wipeout 2048 on Vita

what animu shit should I subject myself to next?
- get round to finishing Persona 4
- Tactics Ogre
- FFIV PSP

I started Alpha Brotocol, and, uh, it's awesome. I can understand why it got the reviews it got but it's SO NEXT LEVEL in its narrative choice and structure that nobody is going to catch up to it for another 10 years and it's a must-play for anyone who likes to think about how games are made and player agency

sweet finished the quest last night, took a couple of hours, and I worked on my cooking too so it wasn't all bad. Onto all the other shit now. I'm gonna do as much as I can before I beat the game, then mop up all the titles and shit I can get in the first play.

Do you recommend I go for Item Nerd in my first play? It's just that I need to turn in the 100% collectors book for a title, and it may suck having to initiate that quest during my speedrun. Hmm.

you can save your item book progress when going for new game+,i know because i missed some quest related items and had to collect them back on my second run

actualy... have you triggered the giganto monster quest? that's the one i missed the first time, the time for triggering the quest is really small and stupid so it's easy to miss
other than that, there is no reason to not going for in your first run... i think one of the thing you can buy for new game+ is improved drop rates but franky they are generous enough you can get all you need with normal drop rates

you should try to get all the achievement you can on the first run (probably the most stupid one is the world map marathon one, while on the airship, put something on your analog stick and leave the game turned on for around 5 hours... yes it takes that much walking!)
then on the second run,mop up everything you missed on the first run and get the level 200 one (since you can buy a new game+ perk that makes you level 10 times faster which makes it a lot less annoying) and the speed run one
then do a third run to get the low level one... don't worry, you only have to defeat the first relevant boss to get it,so you don't have to finish the game three times

oh also be carefull with the bonus dungeon, there is some stupid condition that you have to trigger before finishing the game,if you finish the game before obviously you can't get all the item and all the monsters anymore

some annoying items to find
spoiler (click to show/hide)
there is a kid in the elf floating island which will give you a special cape if judith has executed i don't remember how many fatal strike
if you found the namco island, play the drake minigame XX (i think 20?) times for a ring and a raven title

cool thanks for the tips, I'm using Kouli's event guide and havent missed anything, and I've already completed the Giganto Monster quest properly with the title and everything. I've also sorted the EX dungeon unlock.

Sweet I think I'll go for the item cheev in my first run. I missed using Magic Lens on a couple of early bosses but thats easy to do in my speedrun.

Once I've got 100% monster book Nan will be at Capua Torim during the endgame if I havent done any other sidequests?

This is a great game, but so much of the conditional shit is so convoluted

for the item collector achievement,go to the mage city when you get to 50%,that city goes off limit when the final dungeon pops out so it's another thing you can miss

also there is a trophy for watching all the skits, but you can unlock them all in a single swoop with a new game+ perk... so that's another trophy reserved for your second run

Doing the final dungeon now, it's a bit of a slog as its so big and theres TONS of encounters. I guess it's what a final dungeon should be!

Also still playing Edna & Harvey here and there.  It's still cute.

Going back to Daioujou Black Label now. I spent the last couple days practicing chaining with save states, and I think the only big roadblock to a decent score now is stage 5. I've got it down pretty well at this point, but I'm going to practice some more before I start doing full runs.

I also played Picross 3D a little bit. It's okay, but I think I like regular Picross more.

Uncharted 2 is so much better than the first.  It took me a month of playing because I just couldn't care enough to keep playing but yesterday I started 2 and played it all the way to chapter 18 in one sitting.  If I didn't have a show to shoot, I'd have beaten it.  Really really enjoyable.

allright i finished rune factory 3 and it's a lot better than tides of destiny

- the economy works a lot better in rune factory 3... in tides of destiny, the shops never change their stock other than the crappy stuff they sell at the beginning so in the end there isn't a lot to buy, worse of all an item that uses certain ingredient might result in an item priced less than the sum of the ingredient or sometimes, item that can be made with cheap ingredients can be sold for 5 times the return,it's really easy to end up a millionaire without nothing to buy... in rune factory 3 each item is priced more according tough rune factory 3 introduces random dungeon, the random dungeon gives you lot of free stuff which can be sold for lot of stuff so it's not perfect either but at least the shop DO restock with new, rarer, powerfull more pricey items

- upgrading your skills in tides of destiny is a chore, material are hard to come by so you are stuck doing the crappy items over and over until you become proficent in what you want,in rune factory 3 you can buy any crafting material you have sold at least once (tough what material you can buy are decided at random when you start the game so lot of reset happens when the shopkeeper doesn't bother selling what you want) and be done with it,better yet you can use the most common material to train yourself so skill progress goes a lot faster

- there are a lot, lot, lot more item, especialy things you can cook,a lot of item also have secondary effect, some even stupid (like the pair of shoes that change the sound effect of your step) every item also has it's own graphic where in tides of destiny all of the katana looks the same

- progress is easier to do,in tides of destiny the plot goes on when you solve certain quest but these quest seems to appear when they feel like it (but usualy close enough to each other) so there are moment where you are like "wtf i'm supposed to do now?" but in rune factory 3 each dungeon automaticaly brings you to the next... the only painfull part of rune factory 3 is that you have to marry to finish the game,so if you haven't bothered to :uguu the girls before finishing the penultimate dungeon, you are stuck with nothing to do until you marry (at least you can still do the random dungeons... they even feature their own bosses!)

- combat feels better,in rune factory 3 it kinda plays like 2D zelda, where tides of destiny is ultra choppy and sluggish... also in rune factory 3 you can learn spells and tinker around with magic staves so that you can use enemy attacks but in tides of destiny, you are stuck with whatever magic comes with the magic staff

- i also like the character more,in rune factory 3 quest and character progress are united together,so each character gets their own miniplot (kinda like persona s.link and kinda like persona s.link each girl plot ends up with them trying to jump on your bones) but in tides of destiny quest and character progress are separated and each scene where you get closer to a character is more akin to 1 minute skit

i think i'm going to check rune factory 2 at this point

Just finished Fable 3... the first half was rather boring and had no purpose, but then you get to Aurora and they introduce the Darkness - which happens to be the best character in the game - and I'm like fuck yeah. At this point I have so much money that I'm not even concerned over the goal (why did people complain about this? lol). They do kind of throw you a curveball at the end. The final bit was way better than 2's, but they still didnt have much of a big fight, that was a letdown. Still, if they introduced the Darkness way earlier so it was a much bigger threat, would have been way better.

Is 2 worth playing?  It's the only one I have.

Also, why is MAF sporting the avatar of the best lead rpg character out of the blue?

I have played like an hour of Fable 2. It is so boring. When does it get good?
